UFL week 5 Picks & Best bets

Some mismatched matchups should make for an easy week... Right? Below I break down my picks for Week 5 of the 2024 UFL season.

birmingham vs houston: stallions -7.5 (-110)

Birmingham, still the only remaining team, are going to run through Houston, who sits at the bottom of the USFL conference.

First things first, the Stallions have the top defense across the board. They should have literally no probelm trampling over the Roughnecks, which earn the second-fewest 241 YPG.

Birmingham's biggest threat is the rushing attack, where it records a league-high 140.5 YPG. Surprisingly, Houston might give them some problems in that area as it allows just 69.5 yards on the ground.

I will be honest, Birmingham's spotless record was almost blemished after a two-point win over DC last week. But after all I've seen this season, I have to chalk it up to a fluke.

san antonio vs arlington: OVER 42.5 (-110)

We saw Quinten Dormady take over for the Brahmas last week, steadily tossing 269 yards for a touchdown. Though the 19 points was the lowest San Antonio has recorded this season.

Now, Arlington is weird. The Renegades, defending XFL champions, have yet to reach the win column. But, they have the best quarterback in the league as Luis Perez has 881 passing yards.

I think this is a bounce back week as both groups had brutal performances recently. Plus, I think the Renegades have some fiery frustration that is going to show up on the scoreboard eventually.

St. louis vs DC: oVER 46.5 Points (-110)

This should be entertaining! Featuring two thrilling offenses, I'm expecting a showcase of skill. The Battlehawks have hit their groove, posting 32-points last week to pile up 106 points this season.

Meanwhile, DC was so close to being responsible for stripping Birmingham of its undefeated record. I mean, gaining 18 points on the best defense in the league? That counts for something!

St. Louis' Jacob Saylors is a beast on the ground, rushing a league-leading 172 yards. But, AJ McCarron is more than capable of getting the ball off with his eight passing touchdowns (ranked first). But hey, don't discredit Jordan Ta'amu's 196.8 YPG and six passing touchdowns.

Whatever happens, I know there will be no shortage of action in the endzone.

michigan vs memphis: UNDER 40 (-110)

Michigan will be scrambling without EJ Perry, who suffered a hamstring injury last week. The 26-year-old held the third-most 664 passing yards this year but that tally is over as he's been placed on the IR.

Memphis is on a three-game skid but it's also been forced to face the league's best for three consecutive weeks -- San Antonio, Birmingham and St. Louis. Showboats QB, Case Cookus, took some rough hits last week. The California native has been sacked 13 times, the most of all active quarterbacks this season. Whether he hits the field or not, his body isn't feeling 100%.

So, a new quarterback and one who has been kicked around has me going for the UNDER.

How To Bet On UFL Betting Odds:

While you can bet on spreads and point totals, one of the easiest ways to bet on UFL betting odds is through a moneyline. This moneyline bet means you simply pick which side you think will win between the favorite (signaled with a minus sign) and the underdog (with a plus).

A UFL moneyline of +200 means that you would win $200 on a successful $100 wager. That’s also equivalent to fractional odds of 2/1, decimal odds of 3.00 and implied odds of 33.33 percent. A negative moneyline of -200 means that you would have to wager $200 in order to win $100 on the favorite.
