Academy Awards: 2014 Oscar Odds

With the March 2 Academy Awards ceremony quickly approaching the Oscar odds at the sportsbooks still have 12 Years a Slave listed as the favorite to win Best Picture, with Matthew McConaughey and Cate Blanchett the top choices on the odds to win Best Actor and the odds to win Best Actress.

12 Years a Slave sits as the 1/5 favorite at Bovada on the odds to win Best Picture, with Gravity at 4/1, American Hustle at 12/1, Dallas Buyers Club at 20/1, The Wolf of Wall Street at 25/1, Captain Phillips at 150/1, Her at 150/1, Nebraska at 200/1, and Philomena at 200/1.

McConaughey is then the 1/5 favorite to win Best Actor on those Bovada Oscar odds over Leonardo DiCaprio (5/1), with Blanchett the 1/30 favorite to win Best Actress over Amy Adams (12/1). Jared Leto is the 1/10 favorite to win Best Supporting Actor, with Lupita Nyong'o the 4/7 favorite to win Best Supporting Actress.

With awards season getting underway the sportsbooks have released their early odds to win the top prizes at the 2014 Academy Awards, with 12 Years a Slave considered the top contender on the Oscars betting lines.

12 Years a Slave opened as the 2/3 favorite on the 86th Academy Awards odds at Bovada to win Best Picture at the ceremony on Sunday, March 2, with Steve McQueen the 5/4 co-favorite to win Best Director, and Chiwetel Ejiofor the 3/2 favorite to win Best Actor.

Gravity is then next at 7/2 on those Oscars odds to win Best Picture, with the film's director Alfonso Cuaron tied with McQueen at 5/4 odds to win Best Director at Bovada. Sandra Bullock sits second at 3/1 behind Cate Blanchett (1/3) on the odds to win Best Actress in March. Blanchett is a potential winner for Blue Jasmine.

Rounding out the top early Oscar odds to win Best Picture at Bovada are American Hustle at 4/1, Saving Mr. Banks at 10/1, Captain Phillips at 16/1, and each of Blue Jasmine and The Wolf of Wall Street at 25/1.

American Hustle director David O. Russell is at 4/1 to win the top directing prize at the Oscars, with Martin Scorsese at 10/1 for The Wolf of Wall Street. Woody Allen is back at 50/1 odds to win Best Director for his work on Blue Jasmine.

Matthew McConaughey sits at 5/1 to win Best Actor for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club, behind 7/4 Robert Redford for All is Lost and ahead of 7/1 Tom Hanks for Captain Phillips. Judi Dench (Philomena) and Meryl Streep (August: Osage County) both hold down a line of 10/1 on the early odds to win Best Actress.
