After overcoming slow starts to earn bowl eligibility, the North Carolina State Wolfpack and the Louisville Cardinals meet in this year’s Belk Bowl. This bowl was previously known as the Meineke Car Care Bowl from 2005-2010.

Louisville started the season just 2-4 SU (3-3 ATS), but finished strong in conference play with a 5-1 SU and ATS record. North Carolina State started the season 2-3 SU (0-4-1 ATS) and finished 5-2 SU and ATS. Louisville went 7-1 ATS over its last eight games, and finished the year 6-0 ATS as an underdog with four outright upsets.

Senior quarterback Mike Glennon had a strong season for North Carolina State in his first year as the starter. Glennon finished the regular season with 2,790 passing yards and 28 touchdown passes to just 11 interceptions.

Despite a lopsided season-ending loss and a .500 record the Meineke Bowl odds will still favor the Clemson Tigers by 5.5 points when they take on the offensively-challenged South Florida Bulls.

The overall record of Clemson is not indicative of how well they played this season. The Tigers beat bowl-bound NC State, Maryland, and Georgia Tech, while three of their four conference losses were by less than a touchdown. And they were also spectacular in a three-point loss to Auburn in overtime.

Clemson finished 4-4 in the conference and tied for third in the Atlantic Division. Kyle Parker will get the start at quarterback, despite being pulled in an earlier loss and despite his struggles at the end of the season.

The offense commanded by Parker might not have been the smoothest to watch, but the Tigers' defense commands much respect as it was tied for ninth in the FBS in scoring defense, allowing just 17.8 points per game. This is why college football betting lines favor Clemson.

South Florida completed the regular season in a tie for third place in the Big East. They had wins over bowl-eligible Louisville and Miami, while giving BCS-bound Connecticut real trouble in a tough loss.

The Bulls will most likely be without second-year starting quarterback B.J. Daniels, who threw for 1,496 yards and 12 touchdowns while tossing 12 interceptions. With walk-on Bobby Eveld in the wings, it could be even tougher for South Florida to defy the NCAAF odds for this game.

South Florida ranks 103rd in total offense per game, while ranking 20th on the other side of the ball. With injuries to running back Bradley Battles and fullback Jeff Hawkins, the Bulls will have to dig deep if they expect to come out on top.
