Maryland earned a berth in the 2010 Military Bowl compliments of a turnaround season. Most books acknowledge the stronger Terrapins with a 7.5-point edge in college football betting when they meet up with the East Carolina Pirates.

Danny O’Brien is coming into this bowl game with a ton of confidence after throwing for 417 yards with four touchdowns against No. 21-ranked North Carolina State in the season finale. The team managed a third-place finish behind Virginia Tech and Florida State in the ACC.

O’Brien will be the central part of the Terrapins' offense, as the freshman threw for 2,257 yards with 21 touchdowns and only six interceptions in a stellar season. His main target will be Torrey Smith, who had 12 TD catches for 1,045 yards His – good enough for a share of the conference lead.

D.J. Adams was a surprise element on the ground for Maryland, running for seven touchdowns in only seven games with just 194 yards rushing. If the Terrapins can control time of possession against the worst defense in the nation in East Carolina then expect a lot of college football betting enthusiasts to wager in favor of the Terrapins.

However, a big point spread in the Military Bowl odds against a powerful East Carolina offense could prove to be dangerous. The Pirates averaged 319.3 yards receiving with 37 touchdowns, and if it’s on then underdog bettors at Sports Interaction could be in for a profitable wager. Quarterback Dominique Davis shattered records with 3,699 yards passing with 36 TD passes.

Dwayne Harris had a conference-high 93 catches for 1,055 yards with 10 touchdowns.

NCAAF odds stack high against OVER bettors with a total set at 68, but the Pirates are almost a lock for totals bettors with nine of 12 games paying out to the OVER.
