After recording just three ATS victories last season the Florida State Seminoles will begin the post-Jameis Winston era as big betting favorites in their season opener on Saturday against the Texas State Bobcats.
The 2014 national champions will be looking to start another winning run after seeing their 29-game SU win streak stopped by a 59-20 loss to Oregon in last season's Rose Bowl.
While the Seminoles were an impressive 13-1 SU last season they went 3-11 ATS and had just one ATS win on home turf. Conversely, the Bobcats struggled with consistency a year ago, finishing 7-5 SU overall, but ended the season with six straight ATS wins, including a pair of outright wins as underdogs.
Saturday's matchup at Doak Campbell Stadium is the first ever between these two teams. Not surprisingly, the Seminoles, who open the season at No. 10 in the AP Top 25, were victorious in their two most recent meetings with Sun Belt squads, going 1-1 ATS, while the Bobcats are winless in their last three games against ranked teams.
