Odds to Win the 2017 Miss America Pageant

The countdown is on to see who will be crowned Miss America with the beauty pageant taking place this Sunday at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.

Fifty-two young women between the ages of 17 and 24 from across the United States will compete for the coveted title, and the oddsmakers at Sportsbook seem to have a tough time choosing just one standout competitor.

Five contestants are favored to win the title, with Miss Alabama, Arkansas, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee all sitting at the top of the board with +1200 odds.

Miss New York has won the pageant the past three years. However, Camille Sims, representing New York this year, sits with +6600 odds. I like Sims as a dark-horse pick. Like many contestants, she will be singing as her talent, but could her jazz style give her the edge?

Another contestant I’m looking out for is Kelly Koch, representing Iowa. A representative from Iowa has yet to win Miss America, but Koch sits with +1500 odds, showing some value on the board. The Iowa native will be performing ballet en pointe to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” theme song. The only thing that could interest me more is if she dressed up as Captain Jack himself, but I guess I’ll have to wait and see about that until Sunday.

Good luck to all competitors involved. Here's the complete list of odds:
