UFC 171 Betting: Hendricks vs. Lawler

The UFC Welterweight division will have a new champion following this weekend’s UFC 171 betting card, and oddsmakers think Johny Hendricks will be the next man to wear the 170-pound strap.

Hendricks will have to beat a beast of an opponent in Robbie Lawler, but according to oddsmakers he is heavily favored.

Currently a -380 UFC 171 betting favorite at Sportsbook, the line on Hendricks has grown as high as -600 over the last week of wagering. Big Rig is expected to be too much for Lawler to handle, and should walk out of the Octagon with a KO win. Anyone who follows Robbie Lawler knows that he has the power to win this fight and pay out on the +325 UFC odds upset option currently being offered at Sportsbook.

29 prop bet options are also available at Sportsbook. A couple that jump out are the +105 on Hendricks winning by TKO/KO or the +440 UFC 171 odds on Lawler winning inside the distance. Another interesting line is the -135 option on the fight lasting UNDER the 3.5-round mark.

UFC 171 Betting Odds - Hendricks vs Lawler

Daniel Pineda -240     Robert Whiteford +190      Robert McDaniel +110     Sean Strickland -140

Will Campuzano +350     Justin Scoggins -500      Renee Forte -140     Frank Trevino +110

Sean Spencer +300     Alex Garcia -400      Jim Hettes +200     Dennis Bermudez -260      Jessica Andrade -270     Raquel Pennington +210

Rick Story +145     Kelvin Gastelum -175

Diego Sanchez +145     Myles Jury -175      Ovince St. Preux -375     Nikita Krylov +285      Jake Shields +175     Hector Lombard -225      Carlos Condit -185     Tyron Woodley +150

Johny Hendricks -400     Robbie Lawlor +300

Carlos Condit will be fighting for a chance to get the next UFC Welterweight title shot when he meets former Strikeforce contender Tyron Woodley. The Sportsbook of this fight should be next in line, and it’s Condit who is currently handicapped as the UFC 171 odds -190 favorite. Action on the Woodley upset comes with a +165 payday at Sportsbook, but we like the +250 prop bet option that Condit wins via decision.

Diego Sanchez will have a tough time besting his last performance against Gilbert Melendez, but he will get a chance to do it as the +150 underdog against the undefeated Myles Jury. Sanchez will likely have to utilize his takedown defense if he’s going to come out on top in this fight as Jury will likely be looking to take the fight to the ground.

If he can be successful at getting Sanchez on his back, Jury should have little difficulty paying out on the -165 UFC odds option currently available at Sportsbook.
