NFL Week 6: Computer Predictions

In what most pundits believe is a higher-scoring NFL, the OddsShark Computer projects 10 of Week 6’s 15 games will stay UNDER the total. Who are we to argue with the Computer, which is off to a 44-28-3 start on OVER/UNDER totals?

Heading into the Thursday night game between the New York Giants and the Chicago Bears, the Computer is 36-38-3 against the spread on sides.

This week, the highest-scoring game, according to the Computer, will come on Monday night, when the Indianapolis Colts travel to face the San Diego Chargers. The Computer sees the Colts covering in a game that reaches the 50s in total points.

The Computer believes the lowest-scoring game will take place between the winless Pittsburgh Steelers and the host New York Jets. The Jets should prevail in a game where neither team reaches 20 points, the Computer projects.

In the game featuring the largest point spread of the modern era, the Computer sees Denver easily covering the 27-point spread over the Jacksonville Jaguars in an absolute blowout.

In addition to the blowout at Mile High, the Computer has the Kansas City Chiefs destroying the Oakland Raiders, and the Colts manhandling the Chargers.

Looking for a big moneyline upset? How about the St. Louis Rams? The Computer projects the Rams to go into Houston as 7-point underdogs and knock off the struggling Texans in a low-scoring defensive battle.

The Computer expects tight games in Baltimore, Tampa Bay, and Cleveland, with each game being decided by just a few points. The Computer has Green Bay clipping the Ravens, the Eagles knocking off the Buccaneers in a low-scoring affair, and the Lions barely nipping the Browns.
