About League of Legends:

League of Legends is definitely the most popular eSport game with both the most players and bettors. It is played between two teams of five players, whose goal is to gather resources and items for their champions to gain an advantage against the opposing team. The goal of the game is to destroy the opposing team’s ‘Nexus’, which is protected by defensive structures. Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends, hosts several large invitational championship events in Los Angeles and Europe, while smaller regional championships are held all over the world.

Betting on League of Legends:

Though there are few options available, most sportsbooks offer great odds for eSports betting:

Moneyline/Outright Sportsbook:

Moneyline bets are the most common option for the World Championships. A Moneyline bet requires bettors to pick an outright Sportsbook of the matchup. Knowledge depth of the summoners competing will come into play for this type of bet, as teams are always changing and each matchup is different. This type of bet is extremely simple and a great choice for any of the matchups at the LoL World Championships. Selecting the underdog will usually result in a larger payout due to the risk of the pick.

Parlays

For those looking to increase their potential winnings at the World Championships, bettors are able to combine multiple bets into one parlay bet. Parlay betting can be very tricky, as all legs of the parlay bet must win in order for the ticket to be considered a Sportsbook.

Live Betting

There is actually a great selection of live betting options for eSports. Bettors are able to wager on the Sportsbook of each match, or on events or other occurrences or accomplishments during the match. Many popular sportsbooks have an eSports section with great live betting odds and lines for bettors looking to get in on the action at the 2016 League of Legends World Championships.

Props

Prop bets are unusual or unique variables in a matchup that you wouldn’t normally bet on. Proposition bets aren’t the most popular, but can be very exciting and different for those looking to spice up their betting style at this tournament.
