Shriners Hospital for Children Open Odds

The sports betting capital of the world, Las Vegas, is the setting for the 2016 Shriners Hospital for Children Open, and golf bettors in Sin City will find plenty of value on the board.

At online sportsbook Bovada, Ryan Moore is a +1600 favorite to hoist the hardware. Brooks Koepka (+2200), Jon Rahm (+2200), Chris Kirk (+2800), Francesco Molinari (+2800), Kevin Na (+2800), Scott Piercy (+2800), Billy Horschel (+3300), Brendan Steele (+3500) and Martin Laird (+3500) are the other men with the likeliest shot of winning at the shop.

Smylie Kaufman stormed from seven shots off the pace with a 10-under-par 61 on the final day to win the Shriners last year. Kaufman became the 10th first-time winner at Las Vegas in a 14-year span, as Jim Furyk is the only man to go back to back at the event after doing so in 1998 and ’99.

The lineup isn’t as stellar as other PGA Tour tournaments, but it does feature six of the top 36 in the current world rankings. Winning Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III makes his first start since being elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame, and fellow Hall of Famers Ernie Els and Vijay Singh are also entered this weekend.

The venue of TPC Summerlin is in its 25th year of action. The Shriners has been played at the course every year since 2008, and it’s no walk in the park. TPC Summerlin features a litany of canyons which lead to a four-hole closing stretch full of risk/reward. Players who roll the dice will either get a gratifying or frustrating result to end their rounds.
