Pick 1: Yankees -1.5 (+125) vs Blue Jays
Matchup Preview - Game Time: 1:05 pm ET
Have you guys seen this Blue Jays offense lately? Yeah, I'll give the Jays as much of a chance of besting Marcus Stroman (6 IP, 0 ER) as I give my wife coming back after taking the kids six months ago (I miss you, Debra).
Toronto's offense went completely dormant in its last series, while the Yanks have slugged their way to a 6-1 record. Anthony Volpe and Juan Soto have raked in the early goings. With that short porch in right field and a homer-prone pitcher like Yusei Kikuchi on the mound, I'm counting on a high score and a Yankees runline win.
Pick 2: Mets (+105) vs Reds
Matchup Preview - Game Time: 6:40 pm ET
Well, the Amazins are no longer on pace for a 162-loss season. Now they're in the 27-win range. How magical?
Seriously, though, New York has been rancid to start the year, but the Mets' underdog value has me intrigued for this bet. Beyond Francisco Alvarez, the club's lineup has been very sleepy this year. Historically, however, New York decimates Reds starter Hunter Greene.
In three starts, Greene is 0-2 and has allowed a 6.06 ERA, plus four home runs in 16.1 IP. That's not a great ratio. Pete Alonso is the man to watch in this matchup. He's 2-for-6 lifetime vs Greene with two homers.
