MLB Hit Props April 5th

MLB Hit Props For April 5: Back Realmuto

The MLB season is well underway, and I'm starting to really find my MLB hit prop groove. After fading Mitch Garver and Javier Baez earlier this week, I'm going to be a little more positive today.

I'm taking the MLB hit prop over on a pair of batters for today's slate. They're both kinda chalky picks, but if you parlay them together you can get it up to +105:

Pick 1: Gleyber Torres Over 0.5 Hits (-235)

Yankees vs Blue Jays Matchup Preview - Game Time: 1:05 pm ET

Yusei Kikuchi was way better last year, but he still got hit around by Gleyber Torres and the Yankees. In his career, Kikuchi has allowed nine hits to Torres during 22 career at-bats. The 2B has a 1.071 career OPS against Kikuchi.

The Blue Jays lefty also wasn't particularly sharp in his 2024 debut, allowing six hits in 4.1 innings against the Rays. If Kikuchi misses his spots against Torres, the Yankee infielder will make him pay.

Pick 2: JT Realmuto Over 0.5 Hits (-220)

Phillies vs Nationals Matchup Preview - Game Time: 6:45 pm ET

I love this hit prop. If we want to hone in on this specific matchup, JT Realmuto owns Patrick Corbin during their careers, hitting, 364 off him in 22 career at-bats. He's got eight hits (five for extra bases) and just three strikeouts against Corbin.

But there are even more signs that point to a hit over here too. Corbin gave up seven hits in 4.1 innings during his first start of 2024, Realmuto has gotten a hit in each of his last four games, and the Philly catcher generally rocks lefties like Corbin, too.
