MLB Home Run April 19th 2024

MLB Home Run Props For April 19th: Back Betts

I'm trying to finish my week off with a few dingers in my MLB home run props tonight. So, I'm turning to a reliable slugger and a hot swinger.

Follow along for my two home run prop bets for April 19th:

Pick 1: Mookie Betts To Homer (+340)

Dodgers vs Mets Matchup Preview - Game Time: 10:10 pm ET

Mookie Betts is one of the best players in baseball. He owns many pitchers, but one in particular is his opponent tonight: Sean Manaea. In 26 career meetings between the pair, Betts has 10 hits and seven extra-base knocks (including three homers).

Betts' 1.390 OPS against Manaea is pretty dang good. It also fits with what we know about Betts, a lefty killer who crushes mistakes. Manaea is indeed a lefty, who makes plenty of mistakes.

Betts is also off to a pretty hot start with the stick this year, too. The shortstop (or outfielder, or second baseman, or wherever he is playing today) has six homers in his first month of games, one of the highest totals in MLB.

Pick 2: Daulton Varsho To Homer (+425)

Blue Jays vs Padres Matchup Preview - Game Time: 9:40 pm ET

Daulton Varsho is on a bit of a heater. The Blue Jays outfielder has four homers in his last seven games, racking up a .1539 OPS in his last 17 at-bats. He's a pretty streaky hitter, so I'm going to be buying in while things are going well.

Varsho is also facing knuckleballer Matt Waldron, which I think should be a decent matchup for him. Varsho really struggles with the high fastball, but that's not really a pitch Waldron has in his bag. If Varsho can connect on a wavering knuckler, he can send it to the seats.
