Stephen Curry's 3-point streak ends

The Morning Dunk: Curry's 3-Point Streak Snapped

The countdown to Christmas Day is on, and The Morning Dunk returns to your rotation in grand fashion as an early stocking stuffer with only the best NBA news and highlights.

Stephen Curry's 3-Point Streak Concludes

All good things must come to an end.

Stephen Curry had connected on at least one 3-pointer in 268-straight games before failing to do so on Sunday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, thus ending the longest such streak in NBA history.

The Golden State Warriors sharpshooter went 0-of-8 from deep in a 118-114 victory at the Moda Center. He finished with just seven points in 31 minutes of action, which was by far Curry's lowest scoring output of the 2023-24 campaign.

Despite Curry's poor performance, Golden State still managed to string together consecutive wins for the first time since November 3. The Warriors are now 12-14 SU and currently out of the Play-In picture in the Western Conference.

Durant Slam Seals Wizards' Fate

In the world of sports betting, winning big is the name of the game. In the NBA, though, a win is a win no matter how you slice it.

Despite being the 12.5-point favorites against the lowly Washington Wizards on Sunday, the Phoenix Suns needed every last bucket to put away their feeble competition in the fourth quarter. This Kevin Durant and-1 slam put Phoenix up by three with 27.1 seconds remaining, and the Suns never looked back.

Phoenix is now just 1-8 ATS over its last nine games following its 112-108 victory, with the loss dropping Washington to 4-21 SU.

Pelicans Set Franchise Record

Unlike Curry against the Trail Blazers, the New Orleans Pelicans simply couldn't miss from long range when they took the hardwood over the weekend.

The Pelicans set a new franchise record by swishing 22-of-42 attempts from 3-point range in a dominant 146-110 road win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. CJ McCollum led the way with six 3-pointers while Brandon Ingram contributed five of his own.

The 16-11 SU Pelicans currently have +5000 odds in the race for the NBA championship
