NBA Daily Fantasy Lineup For Feb. 28: Kawhi Safe Play vs. Lakers

NBA daily fantasy incapsulates the worlds of fantasy sports and sports betting into one fun and riveting contest that can lead to massive gains for those who participate.

The DFS lineup will incorporate a standard starting lineup of a PG, SG, SF, PF, and C, along with an additional G, F, and UTIL slot at a salary of $50,000 which cannot be exceeded. Points are allocated based on the statistical production from each individual player that night.

Here's a look at our lineup for the NBA's slate of games on Wednesday, February 28, 2024:

PG: Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors (Vs. Mavericks)

Becoming the first player in franchise history to record four triple-doubles in a single season following his efforts on Monday, the first-time All-Star has now averaged 52.3 fantasy points across three victories since the break and has been one of the more reliable fantasy options at his price across the entire league.

SG: Bennedict Mathurin, Indiana Pacers (Vs. Pelicans)

Bennedict Mathurin recently lit up his home country Toronto Raptors by tying his career high of 34 points, resulting in an incredible 60.25 fantasy points. His upside continues to shine through, so here's hoping there's more remarkable fantasy contributions in the near future for the Montreal native.

SF: Michael Porter Jr, Denver Nuggets (Vs. Kings)

A nine-point, seven-rebound box score on Sunday wasn't what fantasy players had in mind after Michael Porter Jr. averaged 49.3 fantasy points over his prior two outings. Even so, in what should be a high-scoring barnburner wth the Sacramento Kings, Porter Jr. could easily erase that performance from memory.

PF: Herb Jones, New Orleans Pelicans (At Pacers)

The New Orleans Pelicans have played Herb Jones at least 34 minutes in five of their last six games, which means more opportunities to hit threes and create turnovers with his defense which is music to the ears of fantasy players.

C: Kelly Olynyk, Toronto Raptors (Vs. Mavericks)

Jakob Poeltl's status remains unknown after the center injured his ankle during Toronto's last game. Available or not, Kelly Olynyk could see an uptick in minutes should Poeltl not be 100 percent.

G: Gradey Dick, Toronto Raptors (Vs. Mavericks)

A healthy dose of playing time off the bench has come the rookie's way as of late, with his 31 fantasy points against the Indiana Pacers on Monday being Dick's second-best output of the 2023-24 campaign.

F: Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers (Vs. Lakers)

With Paul George not available to compete due to injury, there's plenty of upside selecting Kawhi Leonard to go off in the Battle of Los Angeles. Even on an off night shooting the rock, Leonard still registered 43 fantasy points in a 16-point loss on Sunday.

UTIL: Gary Trent Jr, Toronto Raptors (Vs. Mavericks)

Make that three games in a row that Gary Trent Jr. has scored in double digits for the Raptors, with his 25 points on Feb. 22 against the Brooklyn Nets being his strongest scoring night in just under a month.
