Monday Night Football Player Prop Bet Picks

The Falcons vs Patriots O/U was 57. The Falcons vs Patriots O/U was 57. The Falcons vs Patriots O/U was 57.

I really encourage all of you to mutter that sentence when looking at the delicious Redskins vs Eagles Monday night matchup.

After all, on paper, this should be an air show. The Eagles pass defense has allowed 274 pass yards per game, while the Redskins secondary will be without Josh Norman for another week and fellow cornerback Bashaud Breeland is questionable with a sprained MCL. Both rush defenses rank top 10 (PHI – 65.7 RYAPG, WAS – 88 RYAPG). No-brainer, invest in the pass/rec props, right?

The Falcons vs Patriots O/U was 57.

Carson Wentz Pass Yards O/U 260 ½
The Bet: OVER (-125)

Wentz is averaging 264 pass yards per game including 304 pass yards against Washington in Week 1 when Norman was active. The Redskins secondary has missed its top defensive back, allowing 286 pass yards per game over the past two weeks, which resulted in a loss to the Chiefs and a close win over the 49ers.

Kirk Cousins Rush Yards O/U 10 ½
The Bet: OVER (-125)

No Redskins running back has rushed for 50 or more yards since Week 2. Now, Rob Kelley – the last RB to do so – is expected to return from injury tonight. However, Cousins is averaging more than 20 rush yards per game with 25+ rush yards in three of the Redskins’ five games. He’s mobile and known to scramble multiple times per game. This is my most confident prop of the night.

LeGarrette Blount Rush Yards O/U 57 ½
The Bet: UNDER (-105)

Wendell Smallwood is expected to return tonight. So, this action is based on him being active and involved in the rush attack. Now, Blount remains the lead back, but he won’t be tasked with doing ALL the work as he has in recent games. The Skins rush defense held Carlos Hyde to 2.2 yards per rush last week.

Zach Ertz Total Receptions O/U 5 ½
The Bet: OVER (-115)

Opposing tight ends are averaging six receptions and 84 yards per game against the Redskins. Ertz caught eight balls for 93 yards in their first meeting. He also remains Wentz’s favorite and most trusted target with 5.6 receptions per game. Hmmm….

  • 5.6 receptions per game
  • O/U 5.5

Well played.

Terrelle Pryor Receiving Yards O/U 50 ½
The Bet: OVER (-125)

Fun fact: this O/U moved from 49 ½ to 50 ½ as I wrote this piece.

If Amari Cooper can break out against a poor pass defense, why can’t Pryor? Yes, he only has two games with more than 50 receiving yards this season, but the Eagles have allowed opposing wide receivers to average 196 yards per game. Philly’s pass defense has improved in recent weeks, but WR-1 Pryor can certainly catch 4-5 balls for 60 yards when Kelvin Benjamin can haul in nine for 99 as he did a week ago.
