Aleksander Barkov featured in our NHL anytime goalscorer picks and odds

Anytime Goalscorer Picks Tonight: Barkov Has Most Career Goals Against Habs

The NHL has plenty of player and game props to bet on including an anytime goalscorer pick. Which is pretty self-explanatory. Every Tuesday and Thursday, with the help of our betting reports, I will choose a few players who I think will find the back of the net.

NHL Prop #1 - Connor Bedard vs NY Islanders (+165)

NHL Prop #2 - Aleksander Barkov vs Montreal Canadiens (+165)

NHL Prop #3 - Filip Forsberg vs Boston Bruins (+115)

NHL anytime goalscorer odds & picks: april 2

Whether it's continuing a goal streak or getting back on the scoresheet, here's who I have scoring a goal in the NHL matchups tonight.

connor bedard vs nY Islanders (+165)

Bedard's six-game goalless streak is notable. We're nearing the end of the regular season quickly, and while the Calder Trophy odds heavily favor the 18-year-old, it might not be guaranteed. With no playoffs to compete in, Bedard will want a strong finish to end his rookie campaign.

Thankfully, the Islanders allow centers 1.62 GPG and 11.85 shots per game, the second-most in the league in both categories. Opportunity will present itself and I'm banking on Bedard taking advantage of it.

Aleksander Barkov anytime goalscorer vs Montreal Canadiens (+165)

Another team that can't handle centers -- my Montreal Canadiens. I'm talking about allowing a league-high 12.44 shots per game. The 1.49 goals per game (ranked fifth) isn't comforting either.

The Panthers have already clinched the playoffs and this game means nothing to the Habs. But, I still did some digging for this Atlantic Division showdown.

Statistically, Barkov plays some of his best hockey against the Canadiens. In 34 meetings with Montreal, Barkov has pocketed 24 goals -- scoring against them the most compared to any other team in the league. Granted he is no stranger to playing his conference opponents, but the Finn's 24 goals is seven more goals than his 17 earned against Detroit across 41 outings.

I like the odds for this and the stats to back it up.

Filip Forsberg anytime goalscorer vs boston bruins (+115)

Nashville will really need to focus to stay planted in the first wild card spot, especially considering its last two blowout losses weren't ideal. The Bruins sit comfortably on top of the Atlantic, already punching their tickets to the postseason.

Since clinching, Boston has gone 2-1 in the games that followed with the two wins being decided by a single goal. That's not exactly flaunting the +40 goal differential they've displayed all season. I'm thinking the foot will be off the gas a bit tonight to give Nashville a bit of leeway.

Filip Forsberg is dominating the Predators roster with an elite 41 goals, ranking him in the NHL's top 10 in scoring. Before being interrupted by Colorado, the Swede was on a seven-game goal streak. I'll take him to get back on the wagon and help his team make it out of the regular season.
