Anytime Goalscorer Picks Tonight: The MacKinnon Trend You Need To Know

The NHL has plenty of player and game props to bet on including an anytime goalscorer pick. Which is pretty self-explanatory. Every Tuesday and Thursday, with the help of our betting reports, I will choose a few players who I think will find the back of the net.

NHL Prop #1 - Nathan MacKinnon Vs Montreal Canadiens (-155)

NHL Prop #2 - Sam Reinhart Vs Boston Bruins (+135)

NHL Prop #3 - Wyatt Johnston Vs San Jose Sharks (+195)

Whether it's continuing a goal streak or getting back on the scoresheet, here's who I have scoring a goal in the NHL matchups tonight.

We already know Nathan MacKinnon is on a rampage, blowing through 120 points this year. But, does that make us confident enough to think he will score goal number 45 against the Canadiens tonight? Not completely. But, I know how to change that.

When it comes to Montreal, 38.7% of the shots they give up each night are to centers.

Of the top five teams who allow the most shots to the position (Montreal, NY Islanders, Detroit, Chicago and Columbus), MacKinnon has faced 10 times this season -- scoring in all but two of those matchups and tallying up nine total goals.

Still not convinced? Well, five of those 10 outings were played at Ball Arena and the former first overall pick scored in each one. Just so happens that MacKinnon and his Avs will be hosting again tonight, too.

The Eastern Conference is a tight race with Florida, Boston and Carolina tied with 97 points and New York barely leading with 98. The Panthers are hosting the Bruins at Amerant Bank Arena in this Atlantic Division battle, where the winner will get a step ahead on the standings.

Our shots-on-goal report shows that when sitting on the visitor's bench, Boston allows 33.2 shots per game. On the flip side, Florida snipes 34.7 shots when on home ice.

After his two-goal performance last weekend, Sam Reinhart has officially reached the 50-goal mark. In his first meeting against the Bruins this season, the former first-round pick snagged two points including a single goal. Stakes are high, Reinhart is our guy!

Another team in a tight race to win their conference as Dallas and Colorado are neck and neck trying to catch Vancouver.

Luckily, the Stars should pocket an easy two points against the Sharks -- the worst team in the league. Dallas averages a solid 31.3 shots per game with five players notching 24 goals or more this season.

Remember that Wyatt Johnston hattrick in the first week of March? Yup, recorded against San Jose. Crazily enough, both of the Stars' outings against the Sharks this season went into extra time. Plenty of opportunity for Johnston, with the hot stick against San Jose, to snipe one past Blackwood.
