Expert Picks Tonight: Vancouver Stays Hot At Home

We've got two games on the NHL schedule tonight, both are later starts for us here on the East Coast. Here are tonight's NHL expert picks for both of those games.

NHL Expert Picks: March 25, 2024

Golden Knights vs Blues
The Game: Vegas Golden Knights vs St. Louis Blues, 8 PM ET

TeamPucklineTotalMoneyline
Vegas Golden Knights-1.5 (+160)O6 (-112)-148
St. Louis Blues+1.5 (-192)U6 (-108)+124

Pick: U6 (-108)

I like the UNDER here. This season, the Knights and Blues are 36-33-1 (51%) and 36-29-6 (51%) against the UNDER, respectively. Recently the Knights are 4-1 while the Blues are 5-1-1 at home.

Now consider the Blues' recent surge in quality goaltending. At the time of writing, we still don't know who's getting the start for St. Louis. But that doesn't matter.

In Joel Hofer's last five starts, he's averaging a 0.929SV% and a 2.43GAA. The 23-year-old has been an excellent understudy to Jordan Binnington. Binner's been pretty stellar himself with a 0.924SV% and a 2.56GAA.

So both teams keep the UNDER often and either of the Blues goalies have been excellent. Enough for me!

Kings vs Canucks
The Game: Los Angeles Kings vs Vancouver Canucks, 9 PM ET

TeamPucklineTotalMoneyline
Los Angeles Kings+1.5 (-238)O5.5 (-112)+110
Vancouver Canucks-1.5 (+195)U5.5 (-108)-130

Pick: Canucks ML (-130)

I get the Kings' overall road record is glowing at 20-15SU. But most of that is from way early in the year. Remember, LA went on an 11-game road winning streak at the very start of the season. But since that record is 9-15. Not so glowing, eh? Specifically, they've gone 2-4SU in their last six road games.

Meanwhile, the Canucks are 4-2SU on their current nine-game home stand. Not to mention Vancouver is on a three-game heater right now, where the 'Nucks have been outright dominant with a +6 goal differential and a +27 shot differential.

LA has been on a significant downturn away from Crypto.com Arena while the Canucks are on fire at Rogers Arena. Van wins again tonight.
