Hawks Begin Homestand Versus Sharks

Two of the hotter teams in the Western Conference meet in Illinois when the San Jose Sharks visit the Chicago Blackhawks Tuesday night.

Shark Bites
  • The Blackhawks are 16-3 SU in their last 19 games.
  • UNDER has cashed in 12 of Chicago’s last 17 games on home ice.
  • The Blackhawks are 9-0 SU in their last nine games the Western Conference.

The Blackhawks, and their backers for that matter, are enjoying a three-game winning streak which included a 5-1 thrashing of the reeling Dallas Stars in their last effort Saturday. The contest in Dallas capped a four-game road trip which began with a 5-0 loss at the Carolina Hurricanes but featured wins at the Colorado Avalanche (2-1), Arizona Coyotes (5-4) and, finally, the Stars. The Hawks, who are presently -150 at online shop Sportsbook return home for a four-game stand which begins with a visit from the Sharks Tuesday night.

Speaking of those Sharks, they still own the second spot in the Pacific Division thanks to the Anaheim Ducks’ loss Monday night. San Jose has 58 points, sitting seven behind the Kings and one up on the Ducks, and has gone 6-2-2 in its last 10 games. The Sharks did, however, suffer a bad loss at the Nashville Predators in their last game, losing 6-2 as goaltender Martin Jones allowed five goals on 29 shots.

Both teams have two days off heading into Tuesday’s contest and while Corey Crawford is confirmed to get the start in the crease for the Hawks (via Brian Hedger of NHL.com), nothing is yet confirmed for the Sharks.

UNDER wagers have been trending with these two teams off two days’ rest, however. UNDER is 0-3-1 O/U in the the Sharks’ last four in such spots while UNDER is 0-3 in the Hawks’ last three games on two days’ rest.
