Zach Hyman's Edmonton Oilers featured in our NHL shots on goal picks and odds

Shots On Goal Props Tonight: Dallas Shuts Down Hyman

The NHL has an abundance of player and game props to get your hands on. A popular, rather simple option is shots on goal. We don't need the pucks to go in (though that's a nice bonus), we just need them to wind up their stick and hit the net.

NHL Prop #1 - Zach Hyman UNDER 3.5 Shots (-125)

NHL Prop #2 - Elias Pettersson UNDER 2.5 Shots (-125)

NHL Prop #3 - Nikita Kucherov OVER 3.5 Shots (-110)

NHL shots on goal odds: april 3

Who likes to shoot right now? With the NHL matchups tonight, here are the guys we're leaning on to go OVER or UNDER their shots on goal prop.

zach hyman UNDER 3.5 Shots (-125)

Despite leading the Oilers with 52 goals, Hyman struggles against Dallas. It's not a mystery, the Stars allow a league-low 5.29 shots per game to left-wingers.

Hyman has been on a shooting heater, earning no less than four shots in his last eight outings -- but it ends tonight. In his two meetings with Dallas this season, the Canadian earned just a single shot in each contest, a struggle he's only faced five other times this season.

elias pettersson uNDER 2.5 Shots (-125)

What do Montreal, Detroit, NY Islanders, Chicago and Arizona all have in common? They cough up the most shots to centers. You'd think that would be good news for Pettersson. But after I scanned through his stats, I realized it's not.

Of the 10 times the Swede has faced the five teams above, he has only hit the OVER on 2.5 shots twice -- once in December and January. In his last five meetings facing one of the five teams, he is actually only averaging a shot per game. Sorry Pettersson, I got no faith in you tonight.

nikita kucherov OVER 3.5 Shots (-110)

If there's one thing about me, I really don't like touching Nikita Kucherov props. But, that's more of a personal vendetta than anything.

Of the matchups tonight, Toronto and Tampa Bay have the most at stake. Until that "x" is next to your logo in the standings, you can't get too comfortable. The Lightning especially, sitting in the first wild-card spot.

In his two performances against the Leafs this season, Kucherov has pocketed 11 shots and seven points. His 93 career shots sniped against Toronto, his seventh-highest mark among all NHL groups, proves a promising track record.
