Game of Thrones Dead Pool Odds

MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT

The incredibly long wait between season 6 and season 7 of Game of Thrones continues to drag on with little to satiate the appetite of fans of the mega show. With nothing to do but speculate and read leaks, GoT fans have nothing to do but debate the future of Westeros.

And one of the biggest debates in a show as violent as Thrones is who will die next? Well, according to online book Sportsbook, Jaime Lannister is a slight favorite to be the next character to meet his untimely demise. The last time we saw Jaime, he had just returned to King’s Landing to see Cersei’s coronation following the destruction of the Great Sept. Jaime was clearly upset following the death of Tommen, especially considering Cersei played a large part in the explosion that ultimately drove their son to commit suicide.

Speaking of Cersei, she comes in with the second-best odds to be the next one to die. There is little doubt that wearing the crown in Westeros is akin to a death sentence, but it does seem hard to believe that Cersei’s death would come sooner than many of the other names listed.

One of the more obvious deaths that may come would be Jorah Mormont’s. The former Lord of Bear Island was dealing with greyscale, a disease with no cure, for the entirety of last season. During the end of season 6, Jorah reveals he is suffering from greysale to Daenerys, who then tells him to go find a cure so he can be by her side when she takes back the Seven Kingdoms.

MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT

With the penultimate episode of the Game of Thrones season on the horizon, it’s safe to say the proverbial shit is about to hit the fan in Westeros. The good news is gambling and Game of Thrones go together like peanut butter and jam, and one sportsbook is here to offer all of your wagering needs for the HBO hit show.

Episode 9, which has been titled the "Battle of the Bastards", will very likely be the most epic episode of season 6. Ramsay Bolton and Jon Snow are set to lead their respective armies for the right to control Winterfell, and there sure as hell is going to be some major bloodshed in a year that’s lacked violence. Thrones show-runners have stated the battle will be the biggest skirmish in the history of the show.

That means the Game of Thrones death pool odds at Sportsbook will be extra interesting this week. Past battles in episode 9 ("Battle of the Blackwater", "Battle of Castle Black") did not feature any storylines except those characters that were directly involved with the fight, and it seems like the "Battle of the Bastards" will follow suit.

At the shop, Loras Tyrell remains a +350 favorite to perish next, with Ramsay (+500), the High Sparrow (+600), Tommen Baratheon (+600) and Tormund (+900) right behind him. Other people on the list that will surely be a part of this week’s episode are Ghost (+4000), Davos (+4500), Sansa (+6600) and Jon (+7500).

So, where does the value lie? Ramsay at +500 is a tempting pick, and the entire world is rooting for him to suffer a slow and painful death. But I believe if he does die in episode 9, it will not come until the very end. Tormund is a likable character, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go down fighting valiantly.

Could the show-runners really kill off Jon again? The Jon-Ramsay clash is truly a battle of good vs. evil, however, we’ve learned that Thrones producers could care less about keeping beloved characters alive. If the Stark bastard does die, his odds would create a major payout.

MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT

Three themes are constantly occurring in the world of Game of Thrones: Sex, death and betrayal. But through seven episodes, season six of the hit HBO show hasn’t had its usual fill of death so far. That’s likely to change this weekend.

The past few weeks have been relatively calm, as the showrunners are doing a good job of moving along plot points in order to gear up for a wild finish. In the past, the eighth and ninth episodes have been the most action-packed, with the finale used to tie up loose ends and set the scene for next year.

You better believe Sportsbook is offering odds on which Thrones character will meet their maker next. Loras Tyrell remains the +250 favorite, while the High Sparrow (+550), Tommen Baratheon (+550), Ramsay Bolton (+1200), Jorah Mormont (+1500) and Yara Greyjoy (+1800) are also at the top of the list.

This marks the fourth-straight week Tyrell has been the frontrunner to perish next, and it really shouldn’t come as a surprise. As a result of the power struggle between the Faith Militant and the Lannisters, Tyrell has remained chained up in the dungeon in terrible conditions, enduring regular beatings in the process. Tyrell’s sister, Margaery, has seemingly joined the Faith, but a secret message to her grandmother last week shows she likely hasn’t abandoned the family just yet.

Speaking of religious fanatics, perhaps it’s time we give props to the High Sparrow. This guy wasn’t even in the show until last season but has since dominated King’s Landing, culminating in King Tommen’s sudden love for the church (which happened due to his desire to follow Margaery around like a lost puppy). A major conflict has been brewing in the capital, and Game of Thrones does not let major characters control an area for too long. A wager on the High Sparrow to die next seems like a relatively safe bet.

Ser Jorah Mormont, a.k.a. the King of the Friend Zone, has been ordered by Daenerys Targaryen to find a cure for his greyscale. With so many other things going on, I highly doubt we’ll see the exiled lord again this season, but the book is giving him a +110 chance to treat the disease.

When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. But the code of conduct in Westeros doesn’t say anything about gambling on the extremely popular HBO show. That’s where we come in.

Online sportsbook Sportsbook is back again with its Game of Thrones dead pool odds, and things haven't changed much in a week. That’s because last week’s episode featured a severe lack of violence, which is extremely uncommon for the gruesome series. Instead, major plot points were advanced in a peaceful manner, and Sam Tarly showed some major cojones by screwing over his asshole father (go kill some more White Walkers, Sammy Boy).

Poor Loras Tyrell still tops the death pool odds with a price of +250, but Jorah Mormont (+500), the High Sparrow (+500), Ramsay Bolton (+1000) and Tommen Baratheon (+1000) are right behind him. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to say a prayer to the old Gods and the new that Drogon turns Ramsay into a pile of ashes very soon.

“King” Tommen (c’mon, he’s not a true Baratheon) has seen his odds increase from +1400 to +1000 in a matter of days. Episode 6 revealed an alliance between the Faith Militant and the Crown, as Margaery Tyrell, Tommen and the High Sparrow rained on Jaime Lannister’s parade by announcing the news to the citizens of King’s Landing.

Outside of Hodor (R.I.P. big guy), we haven’t seen a lot of major deaths so far in this season of Game of Thrones. But this is the show where pretty much everyone you like dies, and a slew of violence is surely heading our way in the remaining episodes.

-------------------------------

We are officially halfway through Season 6 of Game of Thrones and there has been a fair share of bloodshed from characters and tears shed from fans. This week we saw the heart-wrenching demise of Hodor and – to a much less sob-inducing extent – Summer.

However, neither of those characters were listed in the Game of Thrones dead pool last week at Sportsbook. This past week has seen some massive odds movement in the pool though with Loras Tyrell now the large favorite to be the next character to die.

With King’s Landing being nowhere to be found in Episode 5 you can expect to see a healthy dose of the capital city this week. That would obviously play into the idea that Loras could be the next to go, as we could see him breaking in his last appearance. With the Small Council finally – seemingly – prepped to take action against The Sparrows we could see Loras killed by the religious group to prove their power. Or we could see Loras take his own life if given the opportunity as he has mentally cracked.

Most of that logic can also be applied to the High Sparrow though – who is tied for the second-best odds to be the next character to die. The slow burn towards the clash between the church and state in King’s Landing could easily see the High Sparrow meet his demise – especially if the Small Council decides to try and eradicate The Sparrows by force.

Tied with the High Sparrow is Jorah Mormont. Jorah has set out on a journey to cure himself of the greyscale that infects him – you can also wager on if Jorah will be cured. The former knight appears to be travelling alone, which leaves him vulnerable to attack but the greyscale could finish the job before any human needs to swing a blade.

An interesting look may be any of the Greyjoy clan – Theon, Yara or Euron. A clash will certainly happen between the new ruler of the Iron Islands and his niece and nephew, but with much of the fleet being stolen by Theon and Yara any conflict could be episodes – or seasons – away.

SPOILER ALERT

Well…a lot certainly happened this week in Game of Thrones. Sansa Stark and Jon Snow were reunited at Castle Black, Brienne confirmed Stannis’ death and we had a way too impassioned debate regarding if a certain breaker of chains was using a body double.

Though the constantly looming death of another major character remains, there are seemingly fewer and fewer clues as to who it may be now that the series has further distanced itself from the books.

Jorah Mormont remains the favorite to be the next one to bite the dust with Sportsbook listing the former knight at +350. Grayscale will almost certainly do away with Jorah – likely why he is the favorite – but the disease can take a very long time to claim its victim. However, it will be interesting to see how Daario Naharis reacts moving forward after finally noticing that Jorah has been infected.

Another intersting prop currently avaliable at Sportsbook is "Will Jorah Mormount's grayscale be cured?" Yes is currently +250 with no coming back at -400.

After Jorah it is a bit of a crapshoot with the High Sparrow and Loras Tyrell coming in at +500.

The High Sparrow is likely going to meet an untimely demise sooner or later, but it is very difficult to imagine how exactly the storyline in King's Landing would go after his death so early in the season. Unless the writers want to shift the focus from the religious angle back to the more politically driven angle.

Loras Tyrell's future may be the most in doubt on the show. Loras is currently being held by The Sparrows and he is clearly breaking under the imprisonment - as we saw last week when he saw his sister. If Loras was to die it would put a fire under the Small Council to aggressively pursue action against The Sparrows.

SPOILER ALERT

That sound you heard last week in episode three was the sound of Thrones fans everywhere rejoicing that Alliser Thorne got his just deserts. As harsh as that may sound, let’s be real here: Ser Alliser was a real jerk and will not be missed. Good riddance!

Yes, Alliser, and some of his posse, got the noose at the end of episode three, cashing in as the +250 fave to perish next in the current season of Game of Thrones. With Castle Black’s Master-at-Arms now off the board, how do the odds shape up for the next character to die?

Jorah Mormont, who was 6/1 entering episode three, is now the favorite at 5/1 at online book Sportsbook. We do know that the clock is ticking on Jorah as when we last saw him, he was checking the spreading greyscale on his arm to see just how long he had left as he searches for his queen in the Dothraki Sea with Daario.

Will Jorah the Explorer even get any screen time in episode four this week? Who knows.

Why can’t it just be Ramsay Bolton already?

SPOILER ALERT

We are now two episodes into Season Six of Game of Thrones and there is more electricity among fans than we have seen all of last season. With so much turmoil at Castle Black and the revival of Jon Snow, Alliser Thorne has become the favorite to be the next major character killed in Thronies.

The last we saw Thorne, he was being taken away to the cells at Castle Black after The Wildlings bust in the front door to confront the traitors that killed Jon Snow. There are a lot of scenarios that would see Thorne meet his untimely demise, including a very unhappy Jon Snow.

Jorah Mormont, who was originally the favorite, has seen his odds fall into a second place tie with Melisandre. Mormont’s demise is almost inevitable after contracting greyscale last season, but that can be a very slow process. Melisandre has seemingly become more disenchanted with her previously held beliefs, which could make a death at her own hands become a realistic possibility.

-------------------------------

The Game of Thrones series can be largely summed up in two words: nudity and murder. Sure there are complex political manoeuvrings and emotional drama, but nudity and murder are big cornerstones of the series.

With death playing such a massive role in the progression of storylines in the land of Westeros, there is certainly money to be made by going in on a dead pool for the series. There is a huge list of characters that could meet their demise, but Sportsbook has tabbed Jorah Mormont as the favorite.

Mormont is not long for the world of the living, as he contracted the typically fatal greyscale during season five. Greyscale does not guarantee death, as there are examples of characters surviving a bout with the disease, though it is certainly some bad foreshadowing. In addition, Mormont may sacrifice himself in order to save Daenerys Targaryen before the greyscale can finish him.

Close behind Mormont in the dead pool is Alliser Thorne. Thorne is in a particularly precarious position as the de facto Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch after the mutiny and murder of Jon Snow. Thorne, who vocally accepted his role in the mutiny, is currently set up against Davos Seaworth and the remaining members of the Night’s Watch who supported Snow. However, the writers seem to love killing characters fans actually like, which would certainly give Thorne a pass.

Some real value may lie in Lady Melisandre who finds herself at +3000. At the beginning of season six we’ve seen what Melisandre actually looked like (something akin to a prune with some wisps of hair mixed with an ogre) after she took her necklace off. This revelation could lead to several branching scenarios leading to her death, especially considering there is a new red witch set to debut this season, which could also, potentially, lead to a revival of Jon Snow.
