Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Miami Heat ATS +5.5

This bet isn't an endorsement that Miami is going to ultimately prevail on the road, but more so that its success covering the spread in these types of situations will carry over to this high-pressure meeting.

When entering a game as an underdog of at least 5.5 points away from the Kaseya Center, the Heat accumulated a record of 9-4 ATS with four consecutive covers over the likes of the Oklahoma City Thunder and reigning champion Denver Nuggets.

What draws concern here is that the Sixers are streamrolling through covers as of late, going a perfect 10-0 ATS to close the season including 7-0 ATS at home. Three of the four games between the two teams were separated by five points or less, though, and each squad covered as both a favorite and underdog at least once for an even split across the board.

As phenomenal as Philadelphia has been in this department, and even factoring in that they now have Joel Embiid suiting up, in an effort to avoid having to play the Boston Celtics in the opening round, we're going to see the Heat keep this one close until the very end even if it doesn't result in a victory.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Tyrese Maxey OVER 24.5 Points

Embiid has looked sensational since returning from his meniscus injury, but there's going to remain a high degree of anxiety as far as how hard he can be pushed and how many minutes he can currently handle. The Sixers' title dreams rest squarely on his shoulders, but Tyrese Maxey is a nice insurance policy to have when the 7-footer is on the bench or unavailable entirely.

Maxey contributed 26 or more points in four of his last five games, including a 52-point outburst against the San Antonio Spurs on April 7 sans Embiid. The lone blemish was a seven-point performance against the Memphis Grizzlies the night prior, but Maxey's minutes were limited in what was a blowout for Philly.

The All-Star guard has dissected Miami's defense several times already this season, averaging 32.3 points over his last three appearances against the Heat. With so much at stake on Wednesday, surpassing 24.5 points is a reasonable enough request considering how much of a tear he's been on offensively.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Tyler Herro UNDER 2.5 Made 3-Pointers

Taking the UNDER here for made 3-pointers by Tyler Herro increases the potential payout of this same-game parlay exponentially, and it certainly has some merit.

Competing in the final six games of the 2023-24 campaign, Herro averaged 2.5 3-pointers per game on 6.7 attempts at a 37.5 percent clip. This included three games in which he drilled three or more to theoretically topple the OVER set forth for Wednesday's play-in tournament.

Let's take the UNDER here due to teammate Duncan Robinson being listed as probable to compete after missing time with an injured back, which will soak up some perimeter shot attempts at the wing. Philadelphia also sits sixth in the Association in opponents 3-pointers made (11.9) and efficiency (35.4), with Herro's most recent box score against the Sixers on Valentine's Day including a 1-of-8 drought from behind the arc.
