Paul George, Clippers continue to win

The Morning Dunk: Clippers Can't Be Stopped

Snow, an appearance from Santa Claus, eggnog, reruns of "Home Alone," and The Morning Dunk for NBA news and highlights are all things you can expect and enjoy in the month of December.

Well, maybe not eggnog. Let's be realistic.

Clippers' Surge Continues

By (Paul) George, I think they've got it.

The longest winning streak in basketball currently belongs to the Los Angeles Clippers, who racked up another victory on Monday by dropping 151 points on the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The win extended the Clippers' streak to eight games and improved the team's record SU to 16-10, good enough for sixth in the competitive Western Conference.

The Clippers currently own the sixth-best odds for the Larry O'Brien trophy at +1400. They've gone 6-1 ATS over their last seven outings, and blew away Indiana as the 3.5-point favorites to improve to 7-2 ATS and SU across their last nine meetings with the Pacers.

Pistons ... Meanwhile ...

Look, you knew it was coming. They're not safe. They can't hide.

Unlike the Clippers, the Detroit Pistons don't seem to know the meaning of "win," having now lost a ridiculous 24 games in a row after falling 130-124 to the Atlanta Hawks.

On the bright side, Cade Cunningham had a monster performance by dropping a career-high 43 points on 24 attempts, adding five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals in 44 minutes of action.

Detroit is now a league-worst (obviously) 2-25 SU. The 24-game losing streak is the second-longest in NBA history for a single season, with the 2014-16 Philadelphia 76ers owning the overall record of 28 games spanning two seasons.

It's Holmgren's House

In the time it takes you to read this opening line, Chet Holmgren likely notched a few more blocks, and potentially even blocked you on social media just because.

The Oklahoma City Thunder's Slenderman recorded seven rejections in just 25 minutes on Monday in a 116-97 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Holmgren also scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to add to his line.

This marked Holmgren's fourth game with six or more blocks on the season. He's currently the favorite for NBA Rookie of the Year at -130, ahead of Victor Wembanyama at -110.
