NCAAB Expert Picks Tonight: Bet the Illini

We're searching far and wide for the very best NCAAB bets for Sunday, March 10th. Today's college basketball slate offers hoop heads a ton of opportunities to build the bankroll as we head toward March Madness.

Here are my three college basketball expert picks of the day:

Jump To Picks

Pick 1: SMU +1 vs UAB

Matchup: SMU vs UAB

There's little to separate these teams, but SMU has the more efficient offense, and the stingier defense in its matchup with UAB.

UAB prefers to pound the ball into the paint, right into where the SMU defense excels allowing opponents to shoot under 54% from near proximity.

Moreover, the Mustangs have a major advantage on the offensive end against a UAB defense allowing over 107 points per 100 possessions, and allowing opponents to shoot nearly 37% from three. SMU have won six straight games and looked like a force. Bet on the Mustangs to continue their strong run of play on Sunday afternoon.

Pick 2: Illinois -2 vs Iowa

Matchup: Illinois vs Iowa

The Fighting Illini have won eight of their past ten games to make a strong push down the stretch of the college basketball season.

They score a plethora points, while shooting nearly 50% from the field and over 37% from downtown this season.

Illinois came up short against Purdue, but hold the advantage in every major offensive metric against Iowa. Don't forget, they took down the Hawkeyes 95-85 just two short weeks ago. This afternoon's game in Iowa City profiles as a closer contest, but I like the Fighting Illini to get the job done once again.

Terrance Shannon Jr. has scored at least 23 points in seven of his last 10 games. Illinois' leading scorer struggled last time out against Iowa, and the Fighting Illini still won by double-digits. Look for Shannon to hit a few more shots in this one and lead his team to victory.

Pick 3: Hofstra -5.5 vs Delaware

Matchup: Hofstra vs Delaware

Let's find some value in the Coastal Athletic Association on a Sunday.

Hofstra have won five of their past six games, covering the spread in each victory in that span. The Pride outscore opponents by over six points per 100 possessions. Crucially, they shoot over 38% from three and have marked advantage in overall field goal percentage over Delaware. They shoot the ball more effectively in the paint, and possess a much more efficient offense.

Delaware have failed to cover in three of their last four games as underdogs, and have won only twice in their past five games. The Pride defeated the Blue Hens 76-71 in January and I like Hofstra to both win and cover the spread once again.
