Cardinals Have Not Covered When Tabbed as Big Faves

What the hell is going on in the NFC West? The Cardinals are 1-2, the LA Rams are leading the division and Jeff Fisher is above .500. Bruce Arians and the desert donkeys will have a chance to redeem themselves in their division this week as they take on the Rams at home in a game in which the Cardinals will be favored by more than a touchdown.

SHARK BITES
  • The Rams are 1-7 SU and ATS in their last eight games after consecutive wins.
  • The Cardinals are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games as a favorite of 9.5 or more.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 12 of the Rams' last 15 games.

By all accounts, the Cardinals were the better team in their loss to the Bills last weekend. Carson Palmer, however, was a complete train wreck and that was more than enough to cost the Cards a win against a cross-conference team expected to bottom-feed in the AFC this year. When we’ve seen elite quarterbacks go downhill the last few years, they’ve gone down with a bullet. Palmer is now 36 years old – we may be in the midst of seeing one of the game’s best exiting his prime.

That said, Arizona should have no trouble with the Rams as they’ve taken four of the last five matchups with their division rivals and LA’s newest team has been horrible after consecutive wins in their last eight.

UNDERs have cashed at a pretty alarming rate for both the Rams and Cardinals and the offensive explosion from LA against the Buccaneers last week was well out of the ordinary. Before their Week 3 game against Tampa, the Rams had scored an average of 14 points in their previous 11 games.

NFL math never adds up but take into consideration that the Cardinals held Tampa Bay to seven points not two weeks ago and the Rams just gave up 32 points and 472 net yards to the Buccaneers. I thought the Rams’ D was supposed to be good? If Carson Palmer isn’t a dumpster fire again this week, he should have a field day.
