NHL Anytime Goal Picks: January 9

Bo Horvat (+185)
The Game: Vancouver Canucks vs New York Islanders, January 9, 7:30 PM ET

Bo knows goals. Specifically against his former team. He hasn't been gone long from the Vancouver Cancuks, but he's already played them twice as a member of the New York Islanders. In those two games, Bo has two goals.

Horvat's been in excellent goalscoring form this year with 16 twine-ticklers in 38 games. A pace of 35 for the season.

Goals fly in the second leg of a back-to-back for the Canucks this year with exactly seven goals scored in all four such contests. I know Bo will get on the end of one of those.

(PS: O6.5 goals in this game is at -102 so that line might be worth a unit or two.)

Auston Matthews (-130)
The Game: San Jose Sharks vs Toronto Maple Leafs, January 9, 7 PM ET

The San Jose Sharks have the second-worst defensive record away from home with 86 goals against. The Toronto Maple Leafs have the seventh-best offensive record at home with 3.61 goals per game.

And there isn't anyone with more goals at Scotiabank Arena this year than Auston Matthews with 19 goals—ten more than the next-best scoring Leaf.  Apparently, "Big Papi" loves to score on the Sharks with 11 goals in 12 career games.

Like I said with Bo, there are goals in this game and you better believe Matthews gets (at least) one.

Filip Forsberg (+130)
The Game: Anaheim Ducks vs Nashville Predators, January 9, 8 PM ET

Let's start this off with the fact that the Anaheim Ducks bleed goals on the road. In their last 10 games away from home, they've allowed 3.8 goals.

Now consider Nashville Predators' Filip "Scoresberg" has 21 goals on the year so far (11th most in the league). In his last five games, he's got five goals. The man is a scoring machine.

Look, I'm not about to bet against a guy who's on pace to score 40+ goals this year and is facing off against a bad team.
