NHL Picks and Predictions Janaury 26. Colorado covers against Los Angeles

Daily NHL Picks & Predictions: Colorado Covers Vs Kings

Nathan MacKinnon is the NHL's rockstar. The Avs star has 26 in 12 games. But more importantly, like a rockstar, when he puts on a show he gets fans to part with more than just their hats.

In today's NHL picks, we back MaKinnon's Avs.

Panthers vs Penguins - UNDER 6 (+110)
The Game: Florida Panthers Vs Pittsburgh Penguins, 7 PM ET

We're gonna have a proper goalie battle tonight. Sergei Bobrovsky and Tristan Jarry likely get the starts tonight. Bob has been better away from home this year with a 2.25GAA and 0.916SV%. Meanwhile, when Jarry is at home he's averaging a 2.41GAA and 0.920SV%.

Now add that in the Panthers' last 10 road games, they've hit the UNDER eight times. Their full record is 8-1-1.

Kings vs Avalanche- Avalanche -1.5 (+170)
The Game: Los Angeles Kings vs Colorado Avalanche, 9 PM ET

MacKinnon's Avalanche holds a 19-5-0 record at home. They've won by two goals or more 15 times in those 19 wins. That's an impressive 79% rate on the puckline.

Now they face an LA side that's falling apart at the seams. The Kings only have two wins in their last 13 games and have been outscored 47-32. And their leadership (like Drew Doughty and Coach Todd McLellan) have called out teammates in the media. Things are rotten at the core of the Kings dressing room. Perfect timing for an Avs win on the puckline.

Blues vs Kraken- OVER 1.5 P1 (-110)
The Game: St. Louis Blues vs Seattle Kraken, 10 PM ET

In the context of the game (Blues are away and the Kraken are at home), the first-period total should go OVER.

When St. Louis is on the road, the first-period OVER hits 65% of the time. For Seattle, the total goes OVER 1.5 goals in the opening 20 55%. I like this combination to hit on -110 odds.
