College Football Week 1 Expert Picks

In their last six games as a favorite of two touchdowns or less, the Alabama Crimson Tide are 5-1 SU and 3-2-1 ATS. Look for the Crimson Tide to add another win and cover to this trend on Saturday against the Wisconsin Badgers.

Alabama is an 11-point favorite for Saturday's game at AT&T Stadium according to online sportsbook Sportsbook. The Crimson Tide are at their most dangerous when they can pin their ears back on defense and focus on one element of an opposing team's attack.

Alabama will be able to do exactly that against Wisconsin as the Badgers will stick to the run on offense. Quarterback Joel Stave isn't going to make the Tide pay for honing in on the run. Alabama's defense should hold Wisconsin in check and the offense will do enough to cover the spread.

Spartans Set to Pay OUT VS. Broncos

If any team is going to challenge Ohio State for the Big Ten Title this year, it isn't going to be Wisconsin; it's going to be Michigan State. Michigan State opens the year as an 18-point favorite on Friday night on the road against the Western Michigan Broncos.

Western Michigan is 0-13 SU and 3-10 ATS in its last 13 games against Big Ten opponents, and I don't see them having much of an answer for the Spartans on either side of the ball. Take Michigan State.

Another favorite to look out for on Friday night is Boise State -12 hosting the Washington Huskies. Boise State is riding a nine-game win streak, and there will be plenty of motivation on the Broncos sideline going up against former head coach Chris Petersen.

The Broncos should win the line battle on both sides of the ball against Washington's inexperienced group, and Boise State is a brutal place for a new quarterback to try to win.

Watch for Outright Upset from BYU

Nebraska has won its season opener 29 straight times, but that streak is in serious danger this year hosting the BYU Cougars. Quarterback Taysom Hill is a dual-threat star that should lead the Cougars to a big day against the Cornhuskers' weak rushing defense.

BYU is live for an outright upset and certainly makes a strong play at +7 on the road.

Lastly, take Arizona State +3 over Texas A&M at NRG Stadium on Saturday. ASU has a fast-paced versatile offense that can hang with the Aggies, and nine returning starters on defense give the Sun Devils a slight edge that should produce the stop or two that decide this game.
