Florida Looking For Rare Back-To-Back Victories Over LSU

Despite missing several starters from their lineup, Florida squeaked out a narrow 16-10 victory over LSU last season. Now the Gators will be looking to pick up consecutive victories against the Tigers for the first time since 2009 – when the Florida team featured Tim Tebow and Chris Rainey.

Shark Bites
  • Florida is 1-3 SU and ATS in its last 4 games against LSU.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 10 of LSU’s last 12 games against the SEC.
  • Despite losing last season, LSU outgained Florida on offense 423 to 270.

Florida’s run-heavy offense has been running on all cylinders since struggling in Week 1 against a stout Michigan defense. The Gators have accounted for 572 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground over the past three games. That being said, coach Jim McElwain needs to figure out the revolving door at quarterback. Luke Del Rio got his first start of the season last week but broke his collarbone and is now done for the year. The QB position now likely falls to Feleipe Franks but Malik Zaire is there as well.

LSU hit rock bottom last week. During their own homecoming week, they welcomed in Troy and then were promptly dominated for the bulk of the game by the Sun Belt opponent. The offense is a mess, especially without Derrius Guice, who dressed last week but wasn’t healthy enough to see the field. The defense is good – though not LSU good – but is struggling to generate turnovers.
