Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2012-2013 Season Odds
The 2011 season was a total disaster for the Buccaneers. After a surprising 10-6 2010 season in which they just missed the playoffs a lot was expected from the Bucs last season, but they failed to deliver and ended the season 4-12.

Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman regressed badly last and the offense crumbled around him. Freeman passed for 3592 yards last season but his touchdown to interception ratio reversed from 25-to-6 in 2010 to 16-to-22 last season. The Bucs offense ranked 21st last season (319.3 yards per game) and they were one of the lowest scoring units in the league, averaging only 17.9 points per game.
To give their offense a jolt and help Freeman bounce back the Bucs retooled their receivers, bringing in wide receivers Vincent Jackson and veteran tight end Dallas Clark. They'll team with holdovers Mike Williams and Arrelious Benn to hopefully get the Bucs' pass attack back in gear.
Freeman may have led the Bucs pass game down last season, but their run game was even worse. Tampa Bay had the 30th ranked run game last season, averaging 91.1 yards per game. That may cost LeGarrette Blount the starting job, as the Bucs drafted Doug Martin with their first round pick.
The defense was also a nightmare for the Bucs last season. No team allowed more yards (394.4 yards per game) or more points (30.9) per game than the Bucs defense did last season. Tampa Bay was especially awful against the run, giving up a shocking 156.1 yards per game
New head coach Greg Schiano has inherited some talent, but also a lot of problems in Tampa Bay. The chances of him getting them all worked out in one season don't look promising.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2011-2012 Season Odds Preview
After going 3-13 in 2009, Tampa Bay entered last season as a team many expected to be a pushover. Instead, they were in the hunt for a playoff spot right down to the wire, just missing out despite a respectable 10-6 record.
With New Orleans and Atlanta sitting atop the NFC South, winning the division would be a very difficult task. But with an exciting young team clearly going in the right direction, there is room for optimism in Tampa Bay.

Josh Freeman excelled in his first full season at quarterback last year, throwing for 3,451 yards and showing off his outstanding decision-making and maturity with a 25-to-6 touchdown to interception ratio. Freeman is a star in the making, and was the main reason behind Tampa Bay’s rapid transformation.
Freeman wasn’t the only young player to have a big year on offense last season. LaGarrette Blount (1,007 yards rushing, six touchdowns) and Mike Williams (65 receptions, 11 touchdowns) both broke into the league with huge rookie campaigns.
On defense, Tampa Bay boasts a solid passing defense, led by cornerbacks Ronde Barber and Aqib Talib. Rushing defense on the other hand was a major concern, as the Bucs ranked 28th in the league surrendering 131.7 yards per game.
As a result, Tampa Bay used their first two draft picks on defensive ends Adrian Clayborn and Da’Quan Bowers, hoping they can step in and make an immediate impact.
Taking a closer look at the 2010 season, Tampa Bay only had one win over a team with a winning record; and that was against New Orleans when they were resting players for the playoffs in Week 17. On paper, this year’s schedule appears to be much tougher, meaning another 10-win season will be difficult to put together.
The future definitely looks bright for the Buccaneers, but this season will show us if the future is now or still a year or two away.
