The inaugural season of the Call of Duty League is quickly approaching with action set to kick off in Minnesota on January 24. The first weekend, which spans Friday through Sunday, will see all 12 teams compete in their first games in franchise history.
And though we have yet to see these new rosters in action, odds have already been posted for the first week of Call of Duty League action.
Dallas Empire vs Chicago Huntsmen
The first game in league history will feature the Dallas Empire facing off against the Chicago Huntsmen. The Empire have opened as the first betting favorite in CoD League history with the squad being listed at -170 while the Huntsmen come back at +125.
Dallas enters the inaugural season with two of the best players to ever play Call of Duty at the highest level in Ian “Crimsix” Porter and James “Clayster” Eubanks. Two of the attributes that make both Crimsix and Clayster so highly revered is their adaptability, with both showing excellent mastery of CoD no matter which entry in the series they competed in. The real question on this team surrounds the younger cast members, specifically 18-year-old Indervir “iLLeY” Dhaliwal.
The Huntsmen enter the first game as underdogs but their roster is filled to the brim with good to great players. The squad has no specific holes in their starting lineup – though Dylan “Envoy” Hannon needs to prove last season was not a fluke – and will also feature the greatest SMG player in CoD history in Seth “Scump” Abner.
Fans of Call of Duty could not have asked for a better game to open the inaugural season.

LA Guerrillas – The Biggest Underdog
The LA Guerrillas seem destined to be “the other team” in Los Angeles this season. On paper, the squad is pretty thin and is counting on Patrick “ACHES” Price’s leadership to carry a team filled with unproven players or talent that might have already seen its best days.
Unsurprisingly, the Guerrillas find themselves as a hefty +250 underdog for their matchup against the Minnesota ROKKR, making LA the biggest underdog of the Sportsbook weekend.

Dallas Empire vs Atlanta FaZe – Game of the Weekend?
According to the betting lines, fans can expect a barnburner when the Dallas Empire and Atlanta FaZe face off in Week 1. The Empire and FaZe both sit at -115 for their matchup on Saturday.
We have already gone over the Empire roster but it is also worth noting that this will be their second game of the weekend while this will be the first for FaZe.
Looking at the FaZe roster, one gets dreams of what could be a special team. Their entire starting lineup is 21 or younger and filled to the brim with potential. That being said, Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris and Chris “Simp” Lehr played together on the 2019 World Champions eUnited with Simp winning the MVP. It is fair if the age can scare you off from wanting to back FaZe right out of the gate but this team has perennial contender written all over it.
