Champions League Odds Legend
One of the more popular European football leagues deserves your full attention when it comes to betting. Making picks on the Champions League can seem daunting until you check out our Odds page. You can use our page to make strategic picks and grow your sports betting knowledge.
Here’s how it works: Favorites are identified by the negative value sign. Underdogs are identified by the positive value sign. An example would be a matchup between Manchester City and Bayern München. If Man City is listed at +250, they’re the underdog. If Bayern is listed at -105, they are the favorite. Knowing this information, you can shape your bet. There is also the possibility that the match could end in a draw (or a tie as it is sometimes referred to) and you’ll notice this where it says Draw.
Moneyline
Moneyline is a popular form of sports betting because all you need to do is bet on the winner of a fixture. The moneyline is the simplest wager you can make on the Champions League. For instance, if a match between Juventus and Real Madrid ends with Juve winning and you bet that they would, you would win your moneyline wager. Moneyline wagering eliminates the insecurity that comes with totals and spread betting. This is not to say that totals and spread betting should be avoided, but if you’re looking to make a simpler type of bet, the moneyline is for you.
Total OVER/UNDER
Totals betting, aka OVER/UNDER, allows you to make a wager based on the total number of goals scored during a match. The sportsbook sets the numbers prior to the game so you can decide whether you want to bet the OVER or UNDER. Let’s break it down: A hypothetical matchup between Barcelona and Porto is set at 4.5. If you decide to bet on the OVER, it means that you need five or more combined goals to be scored for you to win your bet. If you decide to wager on the UNDER, you need the total number of goals scored to be four or less in order to win your bet.
Futures
Futures bets are wagers you make on possible outcomes. For the Champions League you can make a bet on which club you think will win the European Champion Clubs’ Cup, and which clubs will advance past each qualifying round, along with countless other options. An example would be: If you believe that Paris Saint-Germain has a good shot at the title, you can make a futures bet on them. Throughout the season, check out our Standings page to see how your chosen Champions League club is doing and if you’re in line to win your futures bet. Futures bets can tie up your money over the long term, but they’re worth it because of the possible massive payout.
