PointsBet Review
This PointsBet review will break down everything you need to know about the PointsBet sportsbook and betting app before signing up to wager. Below, you can read about various features of PointsBet and the strengths and weaknesses of the book. I’ll help you make an informed decision about whether or not to sign up and begin betting at PointsBet.
PointsBet has all of the classic features and facets a bettor could want. For starters, the book is both safe and reliable, with 24/7 responsive customer service and simple deposit and withdrawal processes.
As well, the sportsbook offers competitive lines for all popular sports, including some of the best lines in Ontario for NBA bettors. With boosted odds parlays for major competitions, it's easy to find value at PointsBet.
PointsBet has also added unique features in recent years to keep pace with other major books. They’ve enhanced the mobile app and added tools like early cash out, boosted parlays, and next-play live betting.
If there’s one area for PointsBet to grow it would be by raising betting limits and decreasing the withdrawal time. Both issues are areas that some users have brought up in online reviews, though I never ran into these specific barriers when using PointsBet.
I’m Mitch Bannon, a sports betting expert for Odds Shark. I’ve been writing in the sports betting industry for over three years now and have seen the good and bad of the online sportsbook and casino offerings. I’m here to break down everything you need to know about PointsBet.
PointsBet has established itself as a known commodity in the sports betting space in recent years. You may recognize it from partnerships with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC, or the Toronto Argonauts. Pointsbet offers a safe and reliable sports betting option for Ontario bettors, and I'll break down the unique features to know below.
PointsBet Strengths & Weaknesses
- Odds-Boosted Parlays
- Extensive Look-Ahead Lines
- Live-Streaming & Bet Tracking
- Exclusive Contests
- 24/7 Customer Support
- Longer Withdrawal Times
- Bet Limits
PointsBet App & Features
PointsBet has made pretty significant improvements to their iOS and Google Play apps in recent months, making the application one of the best in the business. The iOS app is simply laid out and includes easy access to some of PointsBet’s best features. You can quickly navigate to the boosted parlays, live-betting options, lightning bets, and even stream some tennis, european basketball, or soccer matches, straight from the app.
Some users have complained about mobile wagering limits that have been imposed on some bettors, limiting their stakes at different amounts. However, most users don’t have an issue with betting limits and the app is highly regarded for its betting options and ease of use.
PointsBet Improvements
PointsBet is an established and trusted brand for Ontario sports bettors, but they’re still making constant improvements to enhance the user experience. Here are a few recent upgrades from PointsBets’ team:
- ImageBet Boosts - A large selection of boosted parlays have been added across sports in recent months. While some books only boost parlays with three or more legs (which are harder for the bettor to win, naturally), PointsBet often boosts manageable two-leg parlays, with odds often as low as even.
- ImageLive Streaming - The PointsBet app and site have added live streaming for table tennis, tennis, european basketball, and soccer matches. For most sports that PointsBet doesn't have the rights to stream, the app and site still have a companion visualisation to help you track the game live.
- ImageLightning Bets - One of PointsBets’ newest features are lightning bets, where users can live-bet on the next play in games or the result of the next minute or two in certain spots. This allows players to take their live-betting to a whole other level.
How to Sign Up
You can register for PointsBet by visiting Pointsbet and clicking on the right "Sign Up" button in the top right of the screen. You will then be prompted to fill out account information, personal information, and deposit details before you’re able to add money in and start playing. After those initial steps, you can deposit and play on PointsBets book. You may be asked to confirm your personal details the first time you attempt to withdraw winnings.
Live Betting
PointsBet’s live-betting options are one of the sportsbook’s biggest strengths. From both the app and desktop website, you will have access to all the live-betting options you’re used to from any other book.
But, PointsBet goes above and beyond with the in-game betting experience. All live games are located in one condensed hub on the main page for you to look through, which is nice. But the biggest perk is a feature called “lightning bets” which allows you to bet on the next-play or next-minute outcome for every major sport. It’s a unique live-betting experience that allows you to stay locked in on the game.
Is PointsBet Safe?
PointsBet is a safe and trusted sports betting brand in Ontario. It’s partnered with known sporting commodities like the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors and is licensed and regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. You can safely and reliably play and withdraw winnings from PointsBet.
