Week 8 Thursday Night Football, College Football, Champions League and More | Odds Shark’s Guys & Bets (Episode 284)

The Odds Shark cappers are here for Wednesday’s edition of Guys & Bets and what a selection of sports they have for you.

Joe Osborne, Andrew Avery, Iain MacMillan and Pamela Maldonado have six bets in store, and they are all in their wheelhouse.

Thursday Night Football is an all-NFC South matchup as the Atlanta Falcons are in Carolina to take on the Panthers. Atlanta has done a couple of things really well this season: score points and blow leads. So, since picking a side in a Falcons game could cause you to pull your hair out, Joe has decided to look at the Falcons team total in this one.

One of the greatest fighters in UFC history is set to call it a career, but he’s got one last fight in him. Anderson Silva, whose name is synonymous with combat sports, will face Uriah Hall on Saturday night at UFC Fight Night. Since it’s his curtain call, you’d have to think “Spider” is going to empty the tank and end his career in style. Joe isn’t picking a side in this fight, but rather a prop on when the fight ends.

We head to the Champions League for Ninja’s first pick and he’s eyeing a match in Group E. Both games played in this group thus far have ended in a draw, with Rennes and Sevilla now looking to buck that trend. Sevilla played to a scoreless draw against Chelsea in their opener, so with their biggest test in group play behind them, it’s time to start winning, and they should have the upper hand heading into this match as Rennes will be without some valuable players.

Over in Europa League, Ninja is looking at Thursday’s matchup between Lille and Celtic. Lille started group play off strong with a convincing 4-1 win over Sparta Prague. This is an important match for Lille as their showdown with AC Milan looms large in Group H.

The PGA Tour stop is in Bermuda this week and Iain is looking at this field and sees some value on a Sportsbook at +3300. Peter Malnati may not be a household name to the casual golf fan, but he’s coming off two strong performances in October. He finished second at the Sanderson Farms Championship and fifth in the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

The Big Ten came back in a BIG way last weekend. What a thriller between Penn State and Indiana, with the underdog Hoosiers coming out on top in overtime. Now, Penn State will have to regroup for a home game against third-ranked Ohio State. Pam is looking at a bet on the first-half spread, which sits at Buckeyes -7.
