If the No. 23 Georgia Bulldogs New Year’s resolution was to morph into a threat –they’re on the right track. Georgia has defeated top 25 ranked schools in back-to-back performances, including a 13-point win over No. 6 Kentucky followed by another double-digit victory against No. 17 Oklahoma. However, Georgia visits Knoxville as 11.5-point underdogs at Sportsbook for a mid-week clash against No. 6 Tennessee.
Each has suffered just one loss since December, yet neither have been reliable against the spread with the Vols going 3-5-1 ATS and the Bulldogs carrying a 4-4 ATS record across the last month and couple of weeks. Given Mike White's recent resume and this marking Georgia's first double-digit 'dog spread, I'll give the Bulldogs a sprinkle of credit.

Facing three-straight top-25 ranked schools, going 2-1 SU, has prepared Georgia for tonight's meeting with No. 6 Tennessee that's followed by No. 1 Auburn. While there's a discrepancy in poll rankings, there's plenty of similarities between Georgia and Tennessee' game play. The two programs are considered a pair of the best offensive rebounders in college basketball, each sharing a 37.7% mark. Meanwhile, both are also confidently sitting in the top-10 for 3-pointer defense.
The Volunteers brutally fell, 73-43, to No. 8 Florida a little over a week ago. In its first loss of the season, Tennessee went 4-for-29 from the perimeter and shot just 21.4% from the field. The Gators played some tough ball, a level of physicality we'll see the Bulldogs try to achieve tonight. Meanwhile on the same night Tennessee felt the sting of its first defeat, Georgia managed to restrict Kentucky, the third-best offense in college basketball, to 69 points.
Georgia hasn’t claimed victory over Tennessee since January 2020. Three of the four outings following featured the Bulldogs as double-digit underdogs, to which they went 2-1 ATS. At 11.5-points tonight, I'm calling Georgia to upkeep this promising run and expect both nationally-ranked defenses to paint a closer scoreboard.
Chaz Lanier OVER 2.5 Three Pointers (-140) at Sportsbook
When it comes to pulling up beyond the arc, Chaz Lanier is going to shoot his shoot—taking 46 3-point attempts in his last five performances. The senior has dropped 2.5 3-pointers or more in six-straight games in Knoxville, averaging 4.5 three-pointers in that span. His 135 attempts ranks fourth most in the nation while his noble 43.7 3PT% sits 30th among the leaderboard. Letting just 28% of deep shots through, Georgia is one of the better 3-point defenses in college basketball. But, Lanier is just relentlessly shooting from downtown.
