Boxing: Logan Paul vs Antonio Brown Betting Odds and Prediction

As if the boxing world couldn’t get any stranger these days, celebrity boxer and YouTube sensation Logan Paul appears to be getting the gloves ready for another huge event. His potential opponent this time around is not just another YouTube personality, but rather seven-time NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver Antonio Brown. This fight has yet to be officially announced but after the two exchanged jabs on social media, a bout very likely could be on the horizon.

Online sportsbook Sportsbook wasted no time releasing a line for this possible match and Logan Paul opened as a massive -2000 favorite with the former NFLer coming back at +1000. After Odds Shark posted the odds to social media, Brown took notice. Perhaps being seen as a 10-1 underdog will motivate the star athlete in this potential event.

Brown wasn’t the only person intrigued by the value of the former Pro Bowl wide receiver. Many people hopped on the opportunity to bet on him, driving the odds down to +225 for Antonio Brown and -350 for Logan Paul.

Logan Paul vs Antonio Brown

Paul had his rematch with KSI last November at the Staples Center in a sold-out event. The arena was filled and many people tuned in on DAZN from home. Now there is no mention of where this fight would take place or be broadcast, but I’m sure boxing promoter Eddie Hearn would be willing to put it on. Hearn promoted Paul vs KSI 2 and later this month is putting on a card on which Jake Paul, Logan’s younger brother, will be the co-headliner as he boxes AnEsonGib.

It appears that this fight could be imminent with this recent tweet by Paul that suggests he’s all-in and has taken the initial steps to collide in the squared circle.

Logan Paul Boxing Analysis

Paul has yet to win a boxing match – his first bout with KSI ended in a majority draw, while he lost the rematch by split decision after having two points deducted in the fight. Had he not had those points deducted, he would have won, and if he had only had one point deducted, it would have been yet another draw.

The YouTube sensation, with 20.1 million subscribers, has a long reach and he uses his jab well to keep his opponents at bay. That said, after touching his foes with his jab, he tends to lose his composure a little bit and starts winging wild, powerful hooks looking to punish his opponents. That leaves him winded in the later rounds, which is what cost him against KSI in the first fight. Given the fact that he has boxed two six-round bouts, one as an amateur and one as a pro, we can only assume we see a better version in his third boxing match as those rounds are invaluable in learning and developing cardio.

Will AB’s Athleticism Be Enough to Win a Boxing Match?

Antonio Brown has been one of the most dominant wide receivers in the NFL over the past decade, earning seven Pro Bowl nods and twice leading the NFL in receptions and receiving yards. However, AB84 has faced some controversy in recent times, getting benched in the final week of the 2018 regular season which led to him being traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Oakland Raiders.

Brown was a headache in Oakland, injuring his feet due to frostbite during a cryotherapy session, then battling the NFL over his helmet, which didn’t meet safety standards. The Raiders eventually cut him and he was subsequently picked up by the New England Patriots, only to be let go again after allegations of sexual and personal misconduct arose.

Despite what seems to be the end of Brown’s NFL career, he’s still a mainstay in the news, constantly going on tirades on social media, which led to Logan Paul calling him out. Even though Brown hasn’t competed in a sanctioned boxing match, he is a professional athlete and was one of the best in that profession. I’m sure if he was able to do a full training camp to learn boxing footwork and how to throw a jab, he would be able to do quite well in a boxing ring.

Logan Paul vs Antonio Brown Prediction

There is tremendous betting value on Antonio Brown at +225. Even though he hasn’t previously had a boxing match, he is still a world-class athlete going up against a YouTube personality. The biggest knock on Paul’s boxing is probably his cardio and that could be a massive advantage for Brown, whose good conditioning and quickness should leave Paul swinging at air if Brown can move out of the way of the heavier punches.

That said, the YouTuber definitely improved over his two fights against KSI and probably should have won the rematch. Paul has some good power in his punches and he actually set up those heavier strikes quite nicely, dropping KSI with two clean uppercuts. Size could be a big issue for Brown, though, as he is shorter and gives up about 15 pounds to Paul. If he isn’t able to figure out a way to get on the inside and Paul stays patient with his jab on the outside, it could be a one-sided affair.

Prediction: Antonio Brown by decision (+225)
