Michigan State vs Michigan Pick Today

Michigan State +9.5, -110 at FanDuel

The Wolverines won the first matchup, and they'll likely capture the outright win again, but I like the Spartans to cover. Michigan State is 2-2-1 ATS as an underdog this season, according to our college basketball betting database. That includes a cover (and outright win) against then-No. 8 Purdue near the end of February.

Michigan hasn't been especially adept against the spread on the season, owning a 15-15 ATS record, per our database. The Wolverines have only covered in one of their last four, failing to cover 8.5 against Iowa in their most recent game. Michigan only won by three against the Hawkeyes' 190th-ranked offense and 12th-ranked defense.

Michigan State's offense is a bit better than Iowa's (113th), and its defense is within striking distance (29th). The Spartans compare far more favorably to Michigan's ninth-ranked offense and No. 53 defense than the Hawkeyes.

Lastly, the Spartans are playing for a bit more than the Wolverines when it comes to Big Ten seeding, so I wouldn't be surprised to see even more effort than normal. Michigan is locked in as the No. 1 seed for the Big Ten conference tournament, while a Michigan State loss and Nebraska win against Iowa later today would see the Spartans drop to the third seed because they lost to the then-No. 13 Cornhuskers in January. That isn't enough for me to take them outright, but it is the last piece in the puzzle for taking them to cover.

Be sure to check all of the sportsbooks available to you to ensure you're getting the best possible value for this wager. Other books have Michigan State +9.5 at -112 or worse, and you don't want to sacrifice that bit of value if you don't need to.

Michigan State has since moved to +10.5 (-115) at FanDuel. DraftKings has also moved to +10.5, but at -112.

Michigan State vs Michigan Prop Pick Today

Coen Carr OVER 5.5 Rebounds, +100 at FanDuel

Carr has gone over 5.5 rebounds in two of his last four games. He's averaging 5.2 boards per game, so he only needs a narrowly better than average performance to clear this total. Carr came down with six rebounds in the first matchup with the Wolverines, and he's recorded at least six rebounds in 14 of 30 games.
