uSC vs TCU Pick
USC’s offense is built around quarterback Jayden Maiava, who led the Big Ten with 3,431 passing yards while posting 23 touchdowns and his presence alone stabilizes the Trojans despite multiple opt-outs, including wide receivers Ja'Kobi Lane and Makai Lemon who have delcared for the NFL Drafts. The run game has also become more reliable late in the season, with King Miller rushing for 873 yards and coming off a 124 yard and two touchdown performance vs. UCLA.
TCU’s biggest concern is on offense, where the loss of quarterback Josh Hoover removes a reliable leader who tossed for nearly 3,500 yards and 29 touchdowns. Backup Ken Seals steps into a difficult matchup against a USC defense that held opponents under 30 points in five of its last seven games and closed the regular season by limiting UCLA to 10 points. With Jordan Dwyer (730 YDs, 7 TDs) also out with a foot injury, the Horned Frogs’ passing attack is weakened, which isn't the best timing against the Trojans who have allowed less than 200 passing yards per game in its last three outings.
The key will be whether TCU can slow USC’s passing. The Horned Frogs allow over 240 passing yards per game. The stability behind the line of scrimmage with Maiava at the helm should give USC the edge here.
