Nikola Jokic UNDER 7.5 1st Quarter Points
Like many elite players, Nikola Jokic tends to let the game come to him. As such, Jokic has surpassed 7.5 1st quarter points just once in eight playoff games thus far. The three-time NBA MVP has averaged only 5.63 1st quarter points in that span, and is unlikely to see the early volume needed to surpass this prop.
As seen on Monday night, Jokic does most of his damage in the second-half, once he's dissected the opposition's defensive schemes. Look for more of the same in Game 2, as Oklahoma City does everything in its power to stop "Joker" from beating them. Fade Nikola Jokic's first-quarter point total as the first leg of our Nuggets vs Thunder same-game parlay.
Alex Caruso OVER 1.5 Three Pointers
Big shot Caruso to make OVER 1.5 three pointers at plus money? I'll take it. If you missed game one, Caruso was wide open in the corner all night, as Denver aimed to contain Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams.
Caruso will likely be wide open all series long, and the Thunder will need him to take advantage. He's shot an efficient 42% from deep over his past 10 games, and is getting wide open looks all over the place. The former Laker went 5-of-9 from deep on Monday night, and will see enough volume in Game 2 to make his OVER 1.5 threes an excellent bet at +138 odds.
Nuggets 1st Half Points UNDER 55.5
After a wild and wacky game one, I think the Thunder batten down the hatches in Game 2. Remember, the largest discrepancy between these two teams lies on the defensive end, where Oklahoma City is far superior to Denver's middle of the pack unit.
Mark Daigneault would be smart to tell his team to slow the pace in Game 2, and force the Nuggets to play at their pace. Plus, Denver has failed to score more than 55 first-half points in five of their last seven games against the Thunder, totaling just 50 first-half points in game one. OKC did everything well, right until the final minute. The Thunder will need to prove their mettle defensively from the outset tonight and shut down Denver's attack.
