Both teams have had two cupcake matchups thus far, but their third games give us more to work with. The Tigers topped Baylor 38-24, which isn't a terrible showing, but the Sooners' more impressive contest was a 24-13 victory over Michigan that instills more confidence in Oklahoma.
There's also a gap between the programs when it comes to quarterback play. Jackson Arnold returns to Oklahoma as a visitor for the first time after transferring to Auburn with 501 passing yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. The 21-year-old has tallied another 192 rushing yards and four touchdowns as a runner. John Mateer, Arnold's replacement, brings 944 passing yards, five scores, and three picks into the matchup with more completions (71) than Arnold has attempts (69). He's nearly matched Arnold's rushing production, too, with 161 yards and four scores of his own.
It's difficult to bet against the team with notably stronger performances against better competition and a more prolific quarterback that's one of the favorites to take home the Heisman trophy.
