NRFI Picks Today: Ohtani Bump Time

It’s Wednesday, July 30, and we’ve got two first-inning bets that ride volatile pitching, elite bats, and plus-money value. Let’s get to it.

YRFI Pick Today: Blue Jays vs Orioles (-128 at FanDuel)

Blue Jays vs Orioles Odds – 12:35 p.m. ET

This series has been cursed for pitchers, and we’re leaning straight into the chaos with a YRFI. The Orioles have hit at least two homers in 10 straight games against Toronto before Tuesday, and they’ve owned Jose Berrios throughout his career.

In 188 at-bats, active Orioles hitters have a ridiculous .910 OPS against Berrios, with damage scattered across the lineup. Adley Rutschman is slugging over 1.000, Cedric Mullins has taken him deep twice, and it’s hard to see how Berrios survives a clean first inning given his shaky recent form.

On the other side, Dean Kremer takes the ball for Baltimore, and while he’s solid, Toronto should punch back after consecutive miserable efforts. With the Jays spiraling and both teams lighting up the scoreboard early, we’re rolling with the YRFI.

NRFI Pick Today: Dodgers vs Reds (+110 at DraftKings)

Dodgers vs Reds Odds – 7:10 p.m. ET

We’re grabbing plus money on a NRFI in this Dodgers-Reds clash, and the headline is Shohei Ohtani. He’s still ramping up as a starter, but he’s gone three innings in each of his last two outings and has a 4-2 NRFI mark in 2025.

That’s enough to trust him early against a Cincinnati team with just a .629 OPS in the first inning over the past two weeks. Expect Ohtani to set the tone with early strikes and high velocity.

Meanwhile, Nick Martinez starts for the Reds, and he’s a reliable 15-6 NRFI this season. With both arms capable of keeping things clean and value on our side, we’re taking the no-run first inning at +110.
