Memphis Grizzlies +4.5 -108
The Boston Celtics have won five straight games to begin their west coast road trip. So after firing head coach Taylor Jenkins last week, the Memphis Grizzlies should be easy pickings. That's the way a number of bettors will see this contest.
However, the Grizzlies are in the thick of a Western Conference playoff race and have been an excellent defensive team all season. With Ja Morant back in the lineup, and a new head coach bump, I like the contrarian play here on Memphis to cover the spread.
After all, Boston has covered the spread in four of their last five games. But, Jaylen Brown will likely miss tonight's contest, Payton Pritchard sat out on Saturday, and Jayson Tatum is banged up. I think this is a great spot for Memphis to cover.
Chicago Bulls +15.5 -115
The Oklahoma City Thunder are having one of the greatest season's of all-time. In fact, the Thunder have trailed for fewer possessions (24.36%) than they have led by 15 or more points (25.19%) this season.
You read that right, Oklahoma City have spent more time up by 15 points than trailing this season. However, a late March against Chicago will hardly have the boys motivated to blowout the suddenly surging Bulls. Chicago have covered a spread of 15.5 points in 10 straight games, while going 7-3 SU.
Additionally, the Thunder will lack depth tonight. Isaiah Hartenstein, Chet Holmgren, and Jaylin Williams are all questionable, so you can bet at least one of the trio will be rested. Plus,. Aaron Wiggins has been ruled out. Back Josh Giddey and the Bulls to put on a show in his return to Oklahoma City tonight.
Miami Heat -6.5 -138
Don't look now, but the Miami Heat are on a roll. Erik Spoelstra's squad is making a playoff push with the play-in just a few weeks away.
The Heat are currently tied with Chicago for the final play-in spot and will need to continue to win if they hope to catch the Orlando Magic or Atlanta Hawks. Chicago has covered 6.5-point spread in four of their last five games. Moreover, the Wizards are in full-on tank mode as they aim for more lottery balls for the chance to draft Cooper Flagg. Washington have covered the spread just once in their last eight games, as the Wizards continue to roll out a young and inexperienced lineup.
Look for the Heat to pull away in the second half and easily cover this alternate spread. Back Miami as the final leg of our NBA parlay.
