Coming off one of the most exhilarating and enthralling games of the regular season in a 129-126 loss to the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday, the Denver Nuggets (-5.5, -114) must regroup on Wednesday against the visiting Houston Rockets (+5.5, -106), who are currently just 1.5 games ahead of them in the Western Conference playoff picture.
Here's an expert pick and player prop for this matchup at Ball Arena on March 11, 2026, including an UNDER (-106) on an assists prop (5.5) for Alperen Sengun.

Rockets vs. Nuggets Expert Pick Tonight
OVER 230.5 Total Points (-112)
The Rockets will be competing on the second night of a back-to-back slate after handling the Toronto Raptors at the Toyota Center on Tuesday, 113-99. Making the trip to the Mile High City, where altitude has hindered many a player, won't be easy for a Houston team that's gone back and forth between wins and losses over its last seven outings. That inconsistency has carried over to the spread market, as well, having covered in just two of its last six games overall. Of those four blown covers, only one came as a betting underdog, which is the case on Wednesday, but the result was a 145-120 beatdown courtesy of the San Antonio Spurs on March 8, with the Rockets entering at +5.5. Houston's 16.9 turnovers per contest since returning from the All-Star break is the second-worst mark across the Association, so while the team has gone 7-4 in its last 11 games, that glaring number needs to be addressed.
What's working in the Nuggets' favor is that they're 10-6 both in the win-loss column and on the spread this season when possessing a rest advantage over an opponent, while the Rockets are just 5-5 on both fronts when on a quick turnaround. However, just as Houston has struggled to string together success, so too has Denver been in the same boat. It's 8-10 SU and ATS over the last 18 games, with a 2-4 record SU and 3-3 ATS in its last six. During this run, the Nuggets have gone 4-1 SU when favored by at least 5.5 points on the spread, but managed to cover just a single time.
Balancing the scales with these two teams to find an angle to side with, as far as picking a favorite goes, regardless of what the spread may suggest, is incredibly difficult. The only wager that makes sense is putting money down on the total of 230.5 points to go OVER on Wednesday. Denver owns the strongest OVER/UNDER record in the league at 41-24, and the Rockets have managed to record an OVER in six of the last eight games. This is the No. 1 offense of the Nuggets (120.1 points per 100 possessions), battling the No. 8 offense of Houston (116.9 points per 100 possessions), so buckets should be plentiful this evening.
Rockets vs. Nuggets Prop Tonight
Alperen Sengun UNDER 5.5 Assists (-106 at DraftKings)
There have been nine instances this season in which Sengun has taken the floor on zero rest. Of those nine appearances, he only managed to register six or more assists on two occasions, and just once in his last eight tries. He's averaging 3.7 assists over the last seven games for Houston, resulting in six UNDERs at Wednesday's number of 5.5. The most alarming number, however, is that the All-Star big man is turning the rock over 4.7 times during this stretch. He can't be trusted with the ball in his hands as a facilitator these days, and I don't foresee his fortune turning around on the road tonight.
Rockets vs. Nuggets Prop Trends
- Nikola Jokic has exceeded 50.5 points + rebounds + assists in four of his last five games at home (52.2 points + rebounds + assists/game average).
- Kevin Durant has exceeded 28.5 points + assists in 14 of his last 16 games on the road (34.6 points + assists/game average).
- Tari Eason has failed to exceed 6.5 rebounds in 15 of his last 18 games vs. top-10 defenses for rebounds allowed (4.9 rebounds/game average).
- Tim Hardaway Jr. has exceeded 12.5 points + rebounds in five of his last six games at home (16.3 points + rebounds/game average).
