memphis vs NC State Pick
The Tigers enter with a strong record but a rough finish, losing their last three games while adjusting to an interim coach, Reggie Howard, after Ryan Silverfield dipped out to Arkansas. It’s a tough situation, but Memphis has shown it can move the ball in chunks, averaging 6.2 yards per play on the road (top-20). That will be noticeable on Friday as NC State is one of the worst at giving up explosive plays, ranking near the bottom of the nation by coughing up 6.3 yards per play.
NC State definitely comes in with momentum after winning three of their last four games under QB CJ Bailey, who is completing nearly 70% of his passes on the season. But, when Memphis' signal-caller Brendon Lewis is dialed in, he can keep up. The senior is also nearing a 70% completion rate and his 618 rushing yards and nine scores make his duality a threat.
For me, this game can swing in either direction. The Wolfpack can carry in momentum and stability, but the Tigers could easily revert back to being an explosive offense. However, with Memphis allowing 32.3 points over its last three and NC State giving up nearly 40 points on the road, I'm calling a shootout.

While both offenses come out firing, the defenses clearly get overwhelmed as the Tigers (16.5) and Wolfpack (16.7) ranked outside the top-100 for points allowed in the first half.
