There are only three games on Thursday's NBA schedule, with the league about to go on hiatus for one week after players and fans alike gather in Los Angeles for All-Star Weekend. Before that, though, the Los Angeles Lakers (-7.5, -114) will first play host to the visiting Dallas Mavericks (+7.5, -106), who just lost No. 1 overall pick and Rookie of the Year betting favorite Cooper Flagg to a sprained foot.
Here's an expert pick and player prop for this matchup at Crypto.com Arena on February 12, 2026, including an UNDER (-152) on a rebounding prop (4.5) for Jake LaRavia.

Mavericks vs. Lakers Expert Pick Tonight
Los Angeles Lakers -7.5 (-114)
It was on the second night of a back-to-back slate Tuesday night when Los Angeles elected to sit all five of LeBron James (O23.5 points, -102), Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves (O24.5 points, -102), Marcus Smart (O10.5 points, -130), and Deandre Ayton (O12.5 points, -120), resulting in a blowout 136-108 defeat at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs. Doncic and Smart were hurt, while the other three Lakers were held out to manage their respective health concerns. Ayton is still listed as questionable with a bad knee, and Doncic is officially out because of his hamstring, but all three of James, Reaves, and Smart are expected to be in uniform. Having dropped its last two games after stringing together three-straight wins and covers, Los Angeles' hold on the sixth seed (avoiding the play-in tournament bracket in the Western Conference) is just a single game, so playing a Mavericks squad currently in the midst of an eight-game losing streak couldn't have come at a better time.
Flagg had dropped 30 or more points in four-straight games from Jan. 29 through Feb. 5, but none of those performances resulted in wins for Dallas, which has only successfully covered the spread twice during this ongoing skid. The Mavericks are just 5-17 away from the American Airlines Center in 2025-26, but are 6-6 ATS whenever a road underdog of 7.5 points or more. However, one of those failed covers and outright losses did come versus the Lakers on Nov. 28, and that was with Anthony Davis (now with the Washington Wizards) in the starting lineup. With Flagg the primary focal point of what the team does on both ends of the floor, on top of the fact that their No. 2 scorer Naji Marshall (O18.5 points, -130) is listed as questionable with a foot injury of his own, it's difficult to envision where an offense that's ranked 26th across the Association over the last eight games with both players healthy will get points from. The Lakers at least have the incentive to go into the break on a winning note, with each game holding a significant amount of importance from here on out, with the standings as tight as they are. They're 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS when favored by 7.5 points or more in their backyard, and the combination of James and Reaves will be far too much for Dallas to even keep up with sans Flagg.
Mavericks vs. Lakers Prop Tonight
Jake LaRavia UNDER 4.5 Rebounds (-152)
This is one of the weaker wagers you'll find on a limited slate, with injury reports constantly fluctuating, and Los Angeles always willing to throw a curveball at player props with a late removal. In the case of LaRavia, though, betting his UNDER for his rebounding, even with the lackluster value, is a reasonable, but still low-value move. The 6-foot-7 forward has grabbed four or fewer rebounds in each of the last four games, as well as five of the last six for the Lakers. LaRavia also hasn't played more than 27 minutes in each of his last eight appearances.
