The computer was 9-7 ATS last week, although our handicapping experts disagreed strongly on two games and we picked the Colts to cover the Texans and we believed San Diego would win in Detroit.

You should also take heed of the playoff implications of each game, although this is sometimes a deceiving handicapping angle to pursue – the old ‘must-win motivation’ angle. It doesn’t always mean very much, but it is a factor to consider before making your bets.

And in some cases, a late game that had playoff ramifications will be rendered moot by an early game’s result.
