Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Early bettors leaned toward the Rams as 3.5-point favorites on the Sportsbook line, moving the line up to Los Angeles -4. The total has seen an even bigger adjustment from its Sportsbook spot at 44.5 points, jumping up to 46 points as bettors sided with the OVER. The UNDER is 2-4 in Miami’s six games this season and 2-5 in Los Angeles’s seven games in 2020.

Los Angeles News & Notes

Jared Goff played well against the Chicago Bears and their vaunted defense on Monday night, completing 69.7 percent of his passes for 219 passing yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

After recording the worst passer rating of his career last season at 86.5 and throwing only 22 touchdown passes to 16 interceptions, Goff has been considerably better in 2020 with 12 touchdowns, four interceptions and a career-high 102.4 passer rating.

The Rams are also playing excellent defense. Los Angeles ranks sixth in the NFL in total yards allowed at 312.9 per game and second in scoring defense, allowing 17.7 points per game. With Goff making better decisions and the defense playing up to its potential, Los Angeles is in contention for the top spot in the NFC West with a 5-2 SU and 4-3 ATS record.

Miami News & Notes

It isn’t often that you see a quarterback change in the middle of a winning streak. But while veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has led the Dolphins to back-to-back blowout wins over the San Francisco 49ers (43-17) and the New York Jets (24-0), head coach Brian Flores has decided to kick off the Tua Tagovailoa era in Miami on Sunday against the Rams.

Tagovailoa had a sensational career with the Alabama Crimson Tide that was marred only by injuries. He has the talent to be an elite starter in the NFL, and being thrust into action right in the middle of a potential playoff-bound season with the Dolphins at 3-3 SU and 4-2 ATS should be good for his long-term development. The biggest question mark surrounding Tagovailoa in this game and beyond in 2020 will be his durability.

Betting Pick: UNDER 46

Miami and Los Angeles own two of the top three scoring defenses in the NFL. Throw a rookie quarterback into the mix and you’ve got what should be a pretty low-scoring game on your hands.
