Rams vs Panthers Picks - Wild Card Round

Pick: Rams -9.5 (-133)

While these teams already met in Week 13, with Carolina pulling off a stunning 31-28 upset at home, the circumstances surrounding that game are completely irrelevant to Saturday's playoff matchup. The Rams have been the NFL's most dominant offensive force all season, ranking first in offensive EPA with a 93.7 impact score. Led by MVP candidate Matthew Stafford, LA's offense has been nearly unstoppable, averaging over 500 yards in three consecutive games and posting the league's best rushing success rate at 56.9 percent. This is an offensive line that has been elite all year, creating 5.6 adjusted line yards, which is the best mark since at least 2018.

Carolina's Week 13 victory was built on three first-half turnovers and 164 rushing yards, but those conditions aren't likely to repeat themselves in the playoffs. The Rams have significantly improved their ball security, and their offensive consistency has continued to improve down the stretch. Meanwhile, the Panthers' defense has shown vulnerability all season, particularly in recent weeks. While they forced critical turnovers in that November meeting, counting on that level of defensive chaos in January against a laser-focused playoff team is wishful thinking.

The Panthers' path to the playoffs was aided more by the NFC South's mediocrity than their own merit. They finished 8-9, making them one of the weakest division champions in recent memory. Their offense ranks in the bottom half of the league in EPA per play, and while Bryce Young showed flashes in that Week 13 win, he's been far too inconsistent to trust in a playoff environment. The Panthers managed just 5,025 total yards this season, compared to the Rams' 6,314, and they're dealing with significant injury concerns heading into this rematch.

The Rams are 12-5 for a reason, and their five losses have come by a combined 17 points, showcasing their ability to compete in every game. Sean McVay's offensive genius, combined with an improving defense,  makes LA a dangerous postseason team. While the Panthers had their moment in the sun back in November, expecting them to replicate that performance against a revenge-minded Rams squad that has been playing elite football is asking too much. The 10.5-point spread feels generous, but the alternate line of Rams -9.5 at -133 provides a small cushion in case Carolina keeps it close. Los Angeles should handle business and advance comfortably.

Rams vs Panthers Props - Wild Card Round

Puka Nacua Anytime Touchdown (-110)

Puka Nacua has been absolutely unstoppable over the final month of the season, finding the end zone in three of his last four games. The NFL's receptions leader with 129 catches enters the playoffs riding a historic wave of production, having accumulated 573 yards and four touchdowns over a three-game stretch in Weeks 14-16. His 225-yard, two-touchdown performance against Seattle showcased his dominance as the league's most dynamic receiver.

With Davante Adams dealing with nagging injuries down the stretch, Nacua has absorbed an even larger share of Stafford's attention in the red zone, and that volume should continue in the postseason. Carolina's secondary, while respectable, won't have the cornerback depth to contain Nacua for four quarters, especially with defensive back Jaycee Horn on the mend from a concussion. Back the receptions leader to find paydirt in his playoff debut.
