Davante Adams NFL Football Betting Preview Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers

Rodgers, Packers Expected To Roll Over Redskins As Big Home Favorites

Following an embarrassing loss two weeks ago, the Packers rebounded by beating the Giants, but it wasn’t as convincing a win as the score indicates. They host another bottom-dweller in Week 14, but with a huge spread and Washington on a two-game win streak, is Green Bay the smart play?

Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers

Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Packers opened as 14.5-point favorites, seeing as they’re at home, hold a 9-3 record and following the Redskins’ two-game win streak … they have three wins on the season. While Washington’s offense remains a mess, the Packers offense has also been a bit one-dimensional and inconsistent, so the total opened at 42 points.

Washington News & Notes

Don’t look now, but the Redskins are on a two-game winning streak. It didn’t come without drama, as Washington conceded an onside kick and needed a huge goal-line stand in the game’s final moments but hung on to win 29-21 last week at Carolina.

Even more impressive, the victory came after the Redskins trailed 14-0 in the first quarter but fought back behind a strong running game that went for 248 yards on the day. Rookie Derrius Guice led the way with 129 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries, while Adrian Peterson added 13 rushes for 99 yards.

Washington’s two-headed running attack helps keep the pressure off struggling rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who threw for just 147 yards on the day. The Redskins will need to keep running in Week 14 as they travel to Lambeau Field, where they are 0-5-1 ATS in their last six games.

Green Bay News & Notes

It was a cold, snowy day in New York last Sunday, but fortunately for the Packers, their quarterback was right in his element.

Aaron Rodgers is used to playing in frigid conditions, having spent his entire career calling Lambeau Field home, so he had no problems picking apart a suspect Giants secondary as he threw for four touchdowns in a 31-13 victory.

The win wasn’t flawless for Green Bay, as its run game managed just 79 yards. Halfway through the fourth quarter, Rodgers was still Green Bay’s leading rusher with 24 yards. Aaron Jones had 11 carries for 18 yards, while Jamaal Williams finished as the rushing leader with just 40 yards.

This was the fifth time in the Packers’ last six games that they’ve failed to top 120 team rushing yards. They’ll look to get the rushing game back on track against Washington’s bottom-five run defense, but they can’t expect Rodgers to carry the load as Green Bay goes for just its second ATS win in the last five games as a double-digit favorite.

Betting Pick: Redskins +14.5

Washington isn’t good, but the Redskins can run and a spread of more than two touchdowns is a lot to cover. They won’t win, but I think the ‘Skins hang around just enough to cover.
